If you have had to wait for the front springs to settle to lower
the top mount so your shocks reach then your shocks are not long
enough!! what chassis have you got and what springs are you
using?? If you have an extended chassis/shackle's then you need
+2" shocks fitted as standard to military chassis, if your
running with extended chassis/shackle's and HD or parabolic
springs then you really need +4" shockers otherwise the shocks
will top out on articulation and try to pull themselves
apart.... Ask me how I know ::) the easy solution on the front
is to fit SWB rears/+2" SWB rears on the front... On the rear
you either need to fit longer shocks or lower the top mount on
the chassis if its a SWB or extend the mount on the axle if LWB
or you will be pulling them there shocks apart........
I had all sorts of fun with the LWB, also had to have a new
front prop made (longer and wider yoke's) also longer brake
pipes ::) the cost just keeps going on and on...
       Hope this helps a little..
       Cheers
       Chris

i looked at the shocks today and you may well be right Chris as
there is not a lot of stretch in them.

wip one off mate and measure it centre of eyes on full
extension, I will measure the standard military +2" ones I took
off the front of my motor and see if there is a difference, if
my old ones are longer than yours then I may be able to help you
       out

The shocks are paddocks finest 1ton shocks with correct part
numbers for the chassis. So ???

When you are next over dude just bounce the front there dosnt
seem to that much upwards travel left in the shocks . Could just
be how i was doing it but thats how it seemed to me?

If the truck is sat on level ground under it own weight the
shocks should look like they are just above the centre of their
stroke with more downward travel available than the space
between the axle and bump-stops... The easy way to check the
full stroke is to jack the truck up with the chassis/bumper and
see what stops first the flexi brake pipe's :o the shockers :o
or as it should the axle just sits there hanging on the springs
but if the shockers are very near or at the top of their stroke
at this point you may be in trouble, you should have a good
couple of inches to go to be safe to cover the movement when
articulating the axle..... I will measure the ones I have in the
garage tonight and stick a pic on with the part number, they are
original LR as fitted to extended chassis models......
By the sound of it you should have the right ones, the only
other difference that would cause a problem is the springs, as
in the number of leafs you have, the more leafs the lower the
bottom mount is on the axle and so the shocker has to be longer
to reach the fixed top mount!! I'm sure my original LR HD
springs only had 9 leafs on the front, I will have a look later
       and report back....
       Cheers

I would like to suggest the notion for the discussion of the
forum that polybushes are on a par in terms of homosexualgayness
       as curly coil springs. :)
