       Vintage Land Rover footage c1964

Last time I was on here it was the old forum few years back, and
I was showing a video of Mad Martin Sinking his defender....
Now i got some older footage!
These film is just shy of 50 years old!
This film is the work of my father. He was one of the original
members of the Land Rover Club when the club was the only club
in the world and made up of a just handfull of guys out of
Solihull England, he was in the original line up who setup what
we all know as RTV trialing today.
This film was the "Ancaster Land Rover Trial of 1963" and
       "Chesterfield of 1964" - he's driving '1728 AC'.
Back in the day when cine cameras had no sound, and the rule was
you went off roading in a shirt and tie and a waistcoat.
I'll be uploading more films to youtube as I get them
transcribed, these cine films haven't seen the light of day
outside of my dads attic in over 20 years!
If you are a driver in this films or you see your car: please PM
       me.
you can subscribe to my youtube if you want to see more of these
Vintage Series films as I release them.
If you were a member of the Land Rover Owners Club circa 1962-4
       please get in touch.

Please leave me a comment on YouTube if you enjoy them, I can
show them to him that way.
       Cheers

       Here is another film:

This we believe to be shot in 'Ware Hertfordshire' either summer
       of 1963 or 1964.

Especially prevalent, is the presence of '45 FWD' one of the
land rovers that conqured Ben Nevis in 1963.

       Fantastic  thanks for sharing
Competing in trials with no roof, windscreen, door tops,
tailgate and no seat belts :o and no hi-vizzies ;D
One thing that did strike me watching these vids of trialling,
are the amount of people watching. Dont get that many at our
       club.

[quote]Competing in trials with no roof, windscreen, door tops,

Is that what you call 'Rally Preparation' 1960s style? No
useless bling or tricking up, just take the roof and doortops
etc off if it is a nice day?
I did a number plate check on all that I could read (sad git)
and found only two still taxed on their original plates. One of
the cream Stationwagons still exists on a later registration but
none of the others are certain. There could be a few on age
related plates where the old number is shown as on another
vehicle now, but only 3 out of the 26 I read definitely still
       exist.
