Gladys and sisters

I finally got round to taking photos of my tradesmans bikes, and
thought you might like a look.
Gladys - the oldest of the group and the one that started it all
off. She is a type W Brown Brothers Vindec, pre WW2 most likely
earlier. The only things I've done are to make a stand; replace
the brake blocks; replace the ball bearings in the pedals and
crank bearing.

Gloria - A Raleigh butchers bike, rear wheel very badly buckled,
front wheel not a great deal better! Paint work looks to be
original.

Gertrude - Another Vindec. The previous owner was selling her
as she was too modern! Benji was the West Highland Terrier that
rode in the basket!

Geraldine - Unknown make. Has been very badly painted, but
otherwise in good condition. She is the only one with gearing!

The only issue is transporting them all together!

I,ve got a Triumph butchers bike I usually hang it off the back
of the champ.I,m repainting it Deep Bronze green this year as
the colour I got was not what it said on the tin.

We did also fit new hub bearings to Gladys. the old ones were a
bit manky and the grease had dried into solid lumps!
There is also a WWII military bicycle in the shed although it
isn't a tradesmans.
They are great fun to ride although a bit hair raising with the
brakes and steering!

Great-looking combination, johnpirate - although it looks a bit
like retreating Wehrmacht this way :)

I know I was thinking of putting it on the front like the
American WW2 things have sometimes.I,m going to use a couple of
Champ rifle brackets to make it safer to hang on the vehicle.
