Bloody hell, the stuff some folk chuck away, its a land rover
not some piece of disposable jap crap!!!!!
It looks a good sight straighter than mine, and tax exempt too.
Good find there, bit envious really!!!

       I'm glad he didn't!!
I had a good look over her toady, and from what I can see, one
patch on the rear crossmember, and we are good to go.
And maybe put the throttle linkage back to original as it has
been lashed up with a cable and bits of plates pop riveted
       to the bulkhead as brackets.

When I was weighing in some stuff before Christmas, there was a
guy (Foreigner, strangely enough) arguing with the guys saying
he wanted £300 for his Merc, and the guys would only give him
the scrap value which was about £150, he just didn't understand
       the concept of scrapyards!
Would have thought the scrap value of a Land Rover at no more
than £300, but that is a theoretical guestimate

About £180 for one down here, I don't know how much the price
       varies around the country though.

       UPDATE.
I have taken the landy for a spin and it seems pretty good,
although she is reluctant to go in 2nd, but I have driven alot
       worse!
The overdrive is smooth and quiet. She is leaking a bit of water
from the pump, but all in all I'm very pleased with her! And it
       couldn't
have come at a better time as the engine on my 109 died on
       Friday!

scrap yard near me had a long wheelbase series 3 which had a
shot chassis, swizz cheese bulkhead, looked like crap, no Tax or
test but still wanted £2,000. ::)
