I just rescued this from the scrapyard!

I went to the scrapyard yesterday and found this, about to be
put in the "pen" for breaking, luckily it hadn't been declared
scrap
yet and I made him an offer, which he accepted. It is a 1972
series 3 so is tax exempt, it has a 2 1/4 diesel, freewheeling
hubs,
overdrive and is even mot'd until April! I can't figure out why
it was scrapped? It's lucky I got there not long after it came
in.

Well done!
A fellow LROC Belgium member once spotted a S3 in a scrapyard
for being shredded. Unfortunately, the car had to be shredded.
Well, a car with that particular chassisnumber.
With about 4 people, we spent two Saturdays for breaking the
car, and left nothing but a chassis missing outriggers and
crossmembers :D

great timing there then, cant see why it was getting scrapped

Good find ;D
Sell the ball bar on Ebay to some boingy owner and move those
rings back to the top and it'll look a good 'un!

Unbelievable! ??? Looks like a nice truck though. :o
I remember about 4 years ago there was a 2a in a local
scrapyard, it was the victim of a plate rape. >:(
Poor thing wish I'd grabbed it up now. But at the time didn't
know too much about them. :-\

Nice one! That doesn't look half bad. Hope you didn't pay too
much for it.
Our local scrappies are pretty good at putting stuff that has a
change of being back on the road to one side in case anyone
fancies a go at saving them. Certainly anything with more than a
couple of month's test gets set aside.

Lucky bugger, with a bit of cosmetic work that'll look pukka.
Fuck knows why someone would scrap it, a tax exempt 88 with test
and overdrive? Can't believe that'd have gone for less than
£1500 on eBlag.

Great find, these scrapyard threads are escalating - first a
serviceable overdrive, than an overdrive with a serviceable
leafer still attached... what next? :)
Good to see a leafer saved from the Chinese smelters!
