You normally break a shaft when scrabbling and spinning for
traction and then finding grip all of a sudden... with a
locker(s) that shouldn't happen, unless you bang the locker in
       with wheels spinning.

I know what you are saying Chris about a weak link, but having
had to strip an ARB to remove the end of a snapped shaft
(because you can no longer tap pass the centre pin because it is
a cross pin in the ARB. I do like the idea of machining a weak
break point on a heavy duty shaft but making a standard weak
shaft weaker is not some where I want to go, may be just use
Shitpart drive flanges as a weak point/link. Not sure about
damage to the transfer box as they seem to be strong it is the
       gearbox I would wrong about.

Front and Rear ARB in a Series will be good fun to see the look
on the faces of the Coiler drivers. ;D Having shown then in the
pass when trailing how well you can do on leafs. :loser:

Yes, coilers who don't know The Boar (or me) always have a big
laugh when I arrive at a roadbook or event. Until they see The
       Boar in action

Hmm, dont forget by fitting stronger half shafts you move the
weak spot in the transmission - back of the transfer box I
belive to be the next place to go pop. Personally I would keep
the weaker series shafts as then you know where they are going
to break and can be easily replaced. I used to know a chap who
put a very small cut in the shaft at the hub end, done a fair
amount of off roading, didnt break many but they always went at
the same place, bit of fail safe you see.

Weaken the hubs... Easiest to change and cheap as air...

Hmm - but how would one weaken the hubs? (other than fitting
       britpart units....)

Not sure how you weaken a hub.
But britpart make weak rubbish that breaks quickly so might be
       the way.
But if driven with care I think it will all be ok.
Am I right in thinking that normally shaft snap when you have
spinning wheels that then grip something and then over load the
       shaft?

weaken the spines of the hubs by reducing the height (not
       thickness!)
       spider, you think right...

The Boar is still where El Tee left it when he bought a bicycle.
