       The Boar...
By: eL Tee Date: February 9, 2012, 4:42 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
The Boar, a '79 S3 88 StaWa Safari petrol, is bone stock, except
for a couple of not worth mentioning little things such as a
Fairey PTO drum winch and a pair of lockable diffs (ARB
       Airlockers).
Let's call it a never ending rolling restoration...
Here it is: The Boar, my pride :D

And her in action (last week in the north of France, near Sedan)
       as of about 0:40...

       And...
       The Boar's future roof:

What else is in the pipe for The Boar?
       1. fitting a second Fairey/Mayflower PTO drum winch in the back
       2. overhauling and fitting a 2.5 petrol (from a Ninety or
       OneTen)
       3. replacing diffs with D1/RRC-ones (as I can not fit an
overdrive because of a PTO for my winch)
       4. a spray job... Which has been postponed now for almost 5
       years :-\
       5. winterize & make it less noisy inside (Armaflex or alike all
       around)
       6. sponsoring LaSalle trim  ::)
       7. keep it rolling!

looked much better than the RR, at least your getting out even
on 3 wheels. very nice roof, the union flag looks perfect.

Anything looks better than that RRC... And you know what? There
is even a twin driving around of that fugly thing! Lobotomize
       the creators!
With enough alcohol in the gas tank, The Boar can even do it on
       2 wheels! :D
Putting a Belgian flag on The Boar seemed so silly... It's spray
painted by a professional euh... spray painter.

Isn't it a waste of money doing such a good spray job on the
roof, then putting the rack with all the kit on top of it ;D
Nice truck and impressive articulation 8)

No... The paint job was for free by a friend of mine ;)

The Boar runs realy well, as I experienced last week. I think
you should sell me that second Fairey winch. If I can get my
       hands on some prop shafts.

Mmm... Tempting... What's your best offer? ;D
       Honestly, I am hesitating:
       1. overhaul the Fairey, put it on The Boar and sell the
       Mayflower.
       2. overhaul the Fairey, put it in the back of The Boar.
       3. overhaul the Mayflower and sell the Fairey.
The Mayflower is older than the Fairey, so the Fairey is
era-wise a better fit than the Mayflower on The Boar...
       I know, luxury problem ;D
