       Sound Proofing
By: Theshed Date: June 19, 2023, 8:39 am

I have bought a roll of Dodo sound proofing for my SWB diesel
       hard top.
There appears to be plenty on the roll but any suggestions for
       areas I should prioritise ?

Which type of soundproofing is it? The bitumen stuff doesn't
need to cover the whole panel as it's just there to add mass and
cut down on the panel vibrating/resonating.
I've used the bitumen & foil based on most of the panels which
sound tinny, this made a lot vibration/resonating noise go. On
the engine side of the bulkhead I have noise killer foam and
lead sandwich and dyno mat on the bonnet.
The tub has mass loaded vinyl on the wheel arches.
Fairly quiet in mine now but the down side is i'm now hearing
and chasing down annoying rattles and squeaks which were
previously masked by the general din. Able to have a
conversation with rear area passengers now without having to
       shout.

I reckon I’d start thinking about both sides of the bulkhead,
       and footwells.
Stick some on the inside door skins, and bung some conveyor
       belting on the floor panels.
Oh, an there’s the tunnel of course.
My only ‘soundproofing’ is a piece of artificial turf that
       covers the floors and tunnel.😁

Yes, it's the bitumen & foil on a rather heavy roll. I have put
some in the upper footwells and will use something moveable on
       the floor 'conveyor belting' perhaps.
Door panels are next then. I will see if I can put some on
engine side of bulkhead. Not sure about bonnet, it heavy enough
       as it is !
How about the inner wings ? Fully waxoyled underneath so it
would have to be visible, it silver so not sure how I feel about
       that ?
