It was a long, sleepless, and uncomfortable night for the Soviet
leader. When sleep eluded him for the 3rd hour he sat in the
chair by his bed, his 3rd cigarette between his lips, the smell
of strong tobacco permeating through the room.
Despite his nonchalant demeanor in the meeting downstairs he was
scared. He knew that trouble was imminent from this German rat,
already flying back to his home. There was no way to stop
Hitler from attacking Soviet lands, treaty or no. He shook his
head. He knew what he needed to do, but it wasn't pleasant.
Lighting his 4th cigarette he walked to the telephone on his
desk. Putting the call through to Comrade Shaposhnikov took a
few minutes to arrange and another few so that the man could
wake. He checked the clock on the wall, "It will be 7 in
       Moscow." He calculated unconsciously.

Neville Chamberlain sat by his sons bed as he promised he would
till was cured of his flu. He sat there sipping some tea as he
watched outside the window of his sons room. He saw his car
racing by on the road. There was only a few cloud that doted the
       dark night sky.

"Honey someone needs to speak to you he says it is important"
Anna Chamberlain (his wife)said too Neville
Neville look one last time at his son then quick and quietly
       left his room.
"What in hell does someone need at this hour." Neville said
       bitterly
He walk in the living room of his house to see Jerry. Jerry was
a Messenger that worked for him caring important documents all
around England, even the world if need. When Jerry saw Neville
his eyes lit up with happyness.
"Sir..." jerry sayed weakly "A message for you" Then he
       collaposed on the floor
Neville rushed over to him to find a cloth that he had to cover
a bullet wound. In his last breath Jerry gave him a Message
       which sayed WAR

Lebrun sends a hurried telegram to Chamberlain:
"Negotiations have broken down and Hitler has returned to
Germany to prepare for war. Stalin is here with me in Paris to
negotiate. We need his help. We would not have won the Great War
if Russia had not forced the central powers to fight a two-front
war. We need to convince him that if we fall, Hitler will turn
east to conquer all of Europe. If there is any way you can come
to Paris, please do. Hitler has been too aggressive about his
demands, and I fear that he will not respect the agreement we
made to protect Alsace-Lorraine from attack. War fever is
rising, and if we cannot cool it, we must be prepared to face
       it."

The President of the United States Franklin D. Roosevelt reads
the newspaper informing him of the latest decision passed by
Congress. The Neutrality Act of 1937 put a sales embargo on war
and munitions to belligerent nations, and allowed goods to be
shipped on a cash-and-carry basis only. Roosevelt sighed, and
put the paper down on his desk in the oval office. "I hope this
keeps us out of the brewing war" he said to no-one in
particular. He sighed, leaned back in his chair, and stared out
       of the window.

President Roosevelt walked into the meeting room where he would
address the U.S. Congress about the issue in Europe. "Gentleman,
I have been notified as I am sure you have been, that War has
broken out in Europe. Now, I know that the Neutrality Acts
prevent us from sending military aid to belligerent nations, but
our own nation would be threatened with a drop in our nations
already unstable economy if the Nazi's take western Europe. I
propose that we find a loophole in the Neutrality Acts to send
aid at least to England, to keep out strongest economic tie to
Europe alive." He stepped down off of the podium, and exited the
room. As he walked through the hallway, he thought 'I've won
       this debate'.
Letter to Neville Chamberlain from President Franklin D.
       Roosevelt:
       Re: War & Aid.
Mr. Chamberlain, as you well know, the United States has no
desire to be caught up in the War currently declared in Europe.
However, we will be willing to sell arms and munitions on a
Cash-and -carry basis to England and France because of the
newest Neutrality Act. I hope that this will aid you in your
time of need. Good luck Mr. Prime Minister, and may God be with
       you.

       6. 5. 1939
Joseph Stalin jerked awake in his chair. He checked the clock,
9 am. Hopefully that Frenchman would be up and about by now.
He yawned and stretched and lit a cigarette. He smiled
slightly. His phone call to his General, Comrade Shaposhnikov,
calmed his nerves slightly. His Red Army was waking up and
       starting to train.

Albert Lebrun nervously waits in the meeting room for his Soviet
and English counterparts. He knows that England will support him
in the case of war, but he worries whether they will act soon
enough to slow any advance that Germany would make. The Soviets
seem friendly, and the issue of Spain has created a common bond,
but Lebrun worries if they will do enough to back up their word
to help France. They were lucky enough to get a nonaggression
pact with Germany, so he wouldn't blame them if they don't jump
to France's aide. At least they promised to give some anti-tank
weaponry to France. I could be much worse, but Lebrun is really
looking for some security in this upcoming meeting. His list of
allies is small, and he wants to be sure that they will
definitely support France. He composes himself and tries to look
       relaxed while he waits.

He put the phone down and lay on his bed. "Finally it has began"
       he said to himself.

Stalin walks into the meeting hall, supped and brushed. He
spots Lebrun and walks over to him.
