To the Fuhrer,
Your offer is generous and I accept. As you know the SSSR has
no interest in this conflict, and we wish to to remain such. I
must ask, however, that should you turn your attention to places
in which we still have stationed diplomats, that we receive some
warning.
Joseph Stalin
He looked at his reply and breathed a sigh of relief. For the
first time in a long time Joseph Stalin felt a weight lift off
his shoulders. Not only was he able to stay out of the
situation, but the Federation would receive a very welcome piece
of land. As he waved the boy away with his answer he got up
and poured himself a small brandy. Holding it aloft to no one
in particular he whispered, "Thank god" and drank.

The Reich is definitely arming up; Poland is starting to get
nervous. Hitler insists, however, that he holds no ill will
towards Britain or France.
Much to the alarm of the western nations, however, there are
rumours of Nazi spies having infiltrated the country, promoting
parties with goals similar to the National Socialist's party -
Nationalism and fascism! This isn't confirmed yet, but it may be
something to look into...

Kingdom of Yugoslavia,Belgrade,Beli Dvor(White Castle)
King Peter was scared.A new Great war was coming. His forces were
in the south in Montenegro and Kosov, but Germany could attack
him from Austria. Germany will soon attack Poland and Britan and
France will then atack Germany. He liked the Allies but he was
surrounded by Axis.Germany,Italy,Hungary and Romania (Bulgaria
will join them certainly). He needed to let everyone know that
Yugoslavia is remaining neutral if war starts.

As Joseph Stalin shook hands with Adolf Hitler, and the
flashbulbs began popping, he gave another sideways glance at the
pact they had just signed. Relief surged once again through his
body, but this time it was mixed with a heady dose of triumph.
"Soon there will be war," he thought, "and we will be outside,
looking in. There will be peace for the Soviets." He smiled and
looked into the gleaming eyes of his new ally.

In the time preceding this leap forward...
Day one of the invasion of Albania went as planned if not
better, with the seizure of all ports. In small skirmishes with
towns, several hundred Italian and Yugoslavian soldiers were
lost, but the Albanians were still easily crushed beneath the
combined might of Italy and Yugoslavia. Several days later, the
Albanian parliament voted to unify with Italy.

To: King Peter of Yugoslavia
We understand that you are leaning toward alliance with those
opposed to the glorious nations of Italy and Germany. However,
with the friendship Yugoslavia and Italy have had in the past,
it would deeply grieve Italy if you were to join those who
conspire against us. In hopes that Yugoslavia and Italy will
remain in alliance, the nation of Italy offers you greater
control of Albania, the nation we conquered together, proposing
that you appoint a joint viceroy to serve with our Jacomoni di
San Savino in the regulation of Albania.

Secret Meeting in London:
Albert Lebrun walks feverishly into the room where Neville
Chamberlain was already sitting, being in ill health at the
moment.
"I am very afraid, Monsieur Chamberlain. I fear we may lose our
ally in Yugoslavia, and the new leadership in the USSR is not
cooperating with us."
"Calm down, Mr. Lebrun. Germany is not ready to go to war with
us, yet. Let Eastern Europe fall. We don't have many interests
there, anyway. The Maginot Line will hold, you can be sure about
that."
"But, Monsieur! If Germany succeeds in Eastern Europe with no
enemies, Hitler can use all of his power on us, and you know it
will be France that will see most of the fighting."
Chamberlain struggles to his feet, puts his hands on Lebrun's
shoulders, and looks him straight in the eyes. "Rest assured, we
will help if it comes to that, but it won't unless you threaten
Germany by building up your army. Focus on the Maginot Line. It
will protect you, as it's designed to do."
"Okay, but don't tell me I didn't warn you!" Lebrun stalks out
of the room, perturbed.
(I took the liberty of adding dialogue for the UK because
there's nobody roleplaying as the UK right now.)
Lebrun leaves London promptly and is on a boat in the English
Channel, when a government worker catches up to him:
"Dispatch for you, sir!"
As he reads, a smile forms on Lebrun's face. "So that's what I
can do...interesting."

The Führer's handshake with Stalin is solid. He nods, secretly
thinking how much better his mustache is compared to the other
man's.
"Ja. Zis will be a time of prosperity for both of us - Poland
will surrender the Danzig corridor, filled with German people
who speak German, or they will be overtaken by our grand
alliance."
As the Führer turns to leave, he frowns. He didn't like the
Soviet Union; they were jewified and degenerate. Yet, one had to
make compromises to achieve success at times.
When he returns to Germany, Hitler has a seat and pens a letter
to France.
------
Greetings to you.
The Reich, as you may have noticed, has risen to prominence once
again. The German people stand tall and proud; however, despite
what you may think, Germany does not seek revenge on France or
Britain. I am for the promotion of the entire white race, and
France and Great Britain have accomplished much for our whole
people.
However, it is expected that you recognize Germany's rightful
claims in Poland. How can you deny the suffering of thousands of
German people in Danzig? It is a German city, and has always
been a German city - The stripping of it after the Great War was
cruel. You should see this!
Furthermore, we wish to renegotiate the Treaty of Versailles;
the Treaty is not just to Germany in any circumstance, and it
must be changed for the good of all.
--------
Word reaches France and other surrounding countries that the
Jews in Germany are being persecuted in some fashion. A few
refugees claim that the Jewish people are being pushed into what
are called 'ghettos' where they are systematically discriminated
against - But most people are rejecting these claims as
'absurd'.

Merci,
Albert Lebrun
To Mr. Hitler:
In France, we are pleased that the German people will be
together. But frankly we are afraid because you have so great an
army. If you decrease your army after you complete your goals
with the German people we would stop being afraid. But we want
you to know that we do not agree with dictatorial principles. We
support democratic leaders more than leaders who do not offer
the elections to their people.
In general, we would be happy to negotiate the Treaty of
Versailles if you cease to threaten us.
For you to understand our ideas.
Thank you,
Albert Lebrun

myself to write in French first and translate later.) :)

23.4.1939
Spain, at the house of Francisco Franco:
The assassin perches on the window sill, gazing into the room
and controlling his breathing. The illustrious professional
murderer is on his most high-profile mission ever. He steps
barefoot towards the bed, too focused to notice a slight
movement in the corner. Before he can reach the figure in the
bed, a well-placed knife between the ribs incapacitates him, but
not before he can strike at the guard, slicing open his stomach.
Francisco Franco gets up and stands over the guard and says,
"Well done; you served your country well"*. The guard gasps,
"Long live Spain!"*.
*In Spanish, of course.
News of the failed assassination attempt quickly spreads across
Europe, although it's ignored in many countries because they
have bigger problems on their hands. Accusations fly as to who
was behind it, with fingers being pointed as far afield as the
United States. Regardless of who's responsible, the attempted
murder galvanizes the opposition against the fascists in Spain.
The war is rekindled and both sides are seeking support from
other European countries. The fascists are looking, of course to
Germany and Italy, and the opposition has sent emissaries to
France and the UK and is looking for continued support from the
USSR. Some radicals in the republican group have even offered
Spain as a communist country if the USSR would overthrow Franco
for them. In any case, the heat and tension from this conflict
is being felt throughout Europe.
(I apologize again, for being so long-winded. I like to call it
verbose :D)

30.4.1939
A man named Eustorgio Natale stands before a crowd in Place de
l'Hôtel de Ville, a square in Paris. "Gloire!" he shouts in a
fluent French accent, and many cry with him. He inflames their
minds with tales of the glory of the French Empire, and how
their great nation has brought enlightenment as far as Africa
and Asia. He hearkens back to the illustrious days of France
before the revolution, and suggests that the might that France
had then could someday be restored. French society is
liberating, he says, and who would oppose the spread of
liberation throughout the world? Some people turn away in
disgust from him, uncaring of the glories of which he speaks.
But many remain in the Place, letting the words of his oratory
wash over them. They go home and dream of the eminence that
France could achieve, if only its government was given the
strength to do so.
