We the Yugoslav people have been friends with France for
years, since the great war and even before, so we though our
friendship should be sealed with an alliance. We expect your
answer with the reply to this letter.

Albert Lebrun
To: The Kingdom of Yugoslavia
The French Republic would like to continue this friendship with
the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Although alliances tend to start
wars, the government of France values this alliance more than
the danger of war at this time. Thanks for the offer!

It has come to the attention of Italy that Albania is struggling
on its own and would improve under the hand of the prosperous
nation of Italy. We would like to request your cooperation in
our execution of such a maneuver.

everyone set their date couple of months in front of the last
post we would be in 1941 in a couple of posts.

Greetings,
As you know, our treaties state that, should one of our
countries be attaced, the other must intervene. However,
considering the fact that you were not attacked, I feel that
this is not the right time to enter the war.

Italy, Rome
Benito Mussolini sits staring out over the city, not looking at
the man he is speaking to. "I want troops mobilized and ready
for an invasion of Albania. I believe we can talk sense into her
ruler with just a bit of force."
"But, sir-" begins the man.
Mussolini cuts him off. "Execute this as quickly as possible."
After a moment the man responds "Yes sir."

Two private messages are sent out from the Führer's office. One
is to Italy; the other, to the Soviet Union.
To Italy:
Our ideologies are similar, and we seem to have common goals and
ambitions. Thusly, a treaty of friendship - To be known as the
Pact of Steel - is proposed. Italy and Germany shall work
together both in war and in peace; we will maintain
relationships with eachothers' allies, thusly forming a mutual
axis of cooperation amongst us all. Our two countries will be
allies, assisting eachother in war and in peace, until the year
1949 at the least.
To the Soviet Union:
The anschluss of Austria has been completed, and Germany has
reclaimed its rightful land in Czechoslovakia. The Führer is
aware, however, that there is still one more place to go to
complete the true unification of all German peoples: Poland.
Despite our differences, the Reich would like to propose that
our two countries sign a pact of nonaggression with eachother.
In addition, we propose that the country of Poland be divided
between the two of us - Germany, the Reich, shall take the
western half, full of ethnic German people. The Soviet Union, as
a gift for its cooperation, will take the eastern half for its
own use.
------
Negotiations with the Polish government continue; up until this
point, no agreement has been reached. Hitler's demands call for
the return of the free city of Danzig and the lands around it
back to the German Reich, as these lands have been historically
Prussian - And thusly, German. Hitler claims that the German
people in Danzig are being cruelly abused by the Polish, and
that thusly these people must be protected by the German reich
immediately to stop the mistreatment.

The kingdom of Italy agrees to honor this pact you propose
between our nations. We hope that our mutual cooperation in this
matter will create a long-lasting partnership between Italy and
Germany.

L'Empire
d'Allemagne s'agrandit trop rapidement. Je crains qu'ils vont
commencer à regarder vers l'ouest. C'est nous qui sommes
prochains.» Mais, n'ayez pas peur. La plus grande partie de la
gouvernement ne pense pas qu'il ya de danger. Albert Lebrun a
dit hier: «Nous n'avons pas de problèmes avec l'Allemagne. Nous
pensons toujours à l'amitié et à la paix. Si nous agrandissons
notre armée, la méfiance suivrait tout de suite. Restez calmes.»

Whispers of War
Europe has only seen peace since the Great War. But we have seen
this week that some officials in our government think that
Germany and Italy are in danger of going to war. It was written
in a personal letter between two members of the Senate: "We are
in very serious danger. The German Empire is expanding too
quickly. I fear that they will start to look westward. It is we
who are next." But do not be afraid. The largest part of the
government does not think there is any danger. Albert Lebrun
said yesterday: "We have no problems with Germany. We still
believe in friendship and peace. If we expand our military,
distrust would follow immediately. Stay calm."
