Golden Eagles 2-2 Sarnians
Well if it had been a tennis game I’d be apologising for taking
a point having hit the net cord! But considering as we hit
injury time at the end of the first half we were 2-0 down and
only had one attempt on goal in the whole first 45 minutes, we
did what we’ve started to this season and found a way,
Belisarius the unlikely man being played through and thumping in
a vital goal.
We had to rid our luck in the second half, Eagles had a goal
disallowed and another effort on the goal line adjudged to have
not been over the line, and then Guam Honest silenced the home
crowd with a crucial 76th equaliser that sees us ahead in the
league when we really may not have been expected to.

another pathetic result and performance as my poor form
continues as i am now in 6th place with 2 games to go season is
over i will decide over the next few weeks weither to resign or
not

Golden Eagles FC and Sarnians played out a dramatic 2-2 draw in
a controversial encounter. Eagles dominated and were 2-0 at one
point with goals from Angelo Nazari and Davy Hanna inside the
first 36 minutes. However, Belisarius pulled a goal back for
Sarnians just before half-time. Pavel Chernyshev thought he had
restored his side's two goal advantage not long after the break,
but it was disallowed.
Dave Rosewell was incensed at the referee, who gave no
explanation for the ruled-out goal and after a touchline
scuffle, he was sent to the stands! Despite this set-back still
peppered Ziggy Zoffenheim's goal, but the veteran keeper seemed
to super-glue gloves. With 14 minute remaining, Eagles got
caught on the break and Guam Honest equalised to stun the home
crowd in to silence.
With the clock ticking down, Laszlo Kiss had a glorious chance
to put the visitors ahead, but put his shot wide from a tight
angle. That would have been a kick in the teeth for Eagles! Then
more controversy struck just before the end of the game, as
Artem Poltorak's shot struck the bar and bounced back out. The
ball had clearly gone over the line, but the ref didn't give it!
Sarnians had been gotten out of jail yet again by some dubious
refereeing and the game finished all square!
"The lads played our socks off, but at times today it felt like
we were playing against 12 men, the ref made 2 very bad calls
and I feel that cost us the win. I can moan all day about the
ref, but all credit to Mr Reed and his boys, they showed
fighting spirit and fought back."
The result means Sarnians stay top, 1 point ahead of Eagles with
2 games to go. Also joining Eagles on 1 point behind the leaders
are Rael Nerrad and Darlington All Stars, all 3 teams separated
by goal difference. Things couldn't be any closer!

Reykjavik Reapers fought back twice from a goal down to draw 2-2
against Delhi Cobras. Reapers had rested many of their first
team in preparation for Wednesday's league cup game and it
showed at the beginning, with Shudraka Vyas striking for the
visitors in the first minute. Reapers showed resolve though and
were level 10 minutes later through Mariano Bernard.
Cobra's captain Katyayana Vad put his side back in front in the
22nd minute. Reapers had plenty of chances, but it wasn't until
the 68th minute that they managed to score again, with a
wonderful free-kick from Raczka Popovi! The game finished 2-2,
but most importantly for Reapers, no bookings or injuries were
picked up.

Wolves 0 Gyergyoi 3
Well. For the first time in what seems like a whole season,
Gyergyoi were able to pick from a full squad. All players were
fit and raring to go after a successful Ice Hockey weekend where
they picked up 2 important wins.
Wright, Haaranen and youngster Jaalonen were superb in defence
and well and truly shut the door on any Wolves attacks, whilst
Peter Zsolt probably had his best game for some time and
finished with a well deserved hat-trick.
Some players still have minutes to be earnt before the end of
the season so will have to carefully manage that over the last 2
games of the season
