Acorn Academicals vs Sarnians
Our first defeat of the league season away to Pompey Chimes last
week saw us drop to second place and replaced by Chimes in top
spot. It also saw a number of chasing sides gain ground. As we
had a bye in the cup first round we have a fully rested squad
for the trip to Academicals.
The side have been playing good cohesive football so far this
season and the defence is significantly better this seasons,
with Roger Davies and Belisarius coming into the back four.
Skittles singled out Davies for praise, saying he has made 11
key tackles for us and despite being the last player in through
the door his age and experience has been really settling for the
younger players and helped take some of the leadership burden
from Kai Pavlov as the only other senior squad member.
Away games are always tricky, but we are going in aiming to be
positive.

after having a week off my players have been training hard and i
have told them they need to kick on now and start being more
consistant and try move up the table so lets do that with this
game and try and get the 3 points

Highland erratic start to the season needs to be addressed and
the team will be looking to start that with a home win in this
weeks league match. The management have kept the players away
from the press this week as they look to get there season back
on track.
Hey will have a full squad to choice from for this match. The
manager said that players that have preformed well in training
will be given the change in this match and players will be pick
on form and not reputations.

Golden Eagles FC face Artic Storm at home this week, as they
look to continue their unbeaten record at home in division 2.
This looks to be a tough game for Storm, who are point behind
their 6th placed hosts. Eagles will be hoping this could be
another weekend where they could try and close the gap to the
top. Sarnians, Pompey Chimes, Rael Nerrad and Kyushu Yakuza all
have away ties this weekend and there could be some upsets there
if the season so far is anything to go by.
Eagles, who have no injuries or suspensions sit 5 points of top
spot. Both Pavel Chernyshev and Diog Guillems have been
brilliant for Eagles so far this season, scoring 10 and 9 goals
each respectively. While Storm are missing James Leyland in
midfield, but Eagles will still need to keep an eye on the likes
of Craig Stewart and top scorer (with 8 goals) Davy Hanna.

Reykjavik Reapers face probably their toughest game in division
2 so far this season, with an away trip to German outfit
Dusseldorf Dragons. Both Reapers and Dragons are the only 2
teams int he division to remain un-defeated so far. Reapers have
won 5 and drawn 1, while Dragons have won 3 and drawn 3, so this
game could go either way. A win for Reapers could see them
extend their leader over Cockney Cockrells, who are at home to
Tranmere Titans or at the very least keep their 3 point
advantage. A draw could see their lead cut back down to 1 point,
but defeat could see them lose top spot as Cockrells have a
better goal difference. Not only that, but that would open the
door for Dragons to cut the gap also.
Both sides are at full strength, the only change for Reapers
though is Enzo Julliene and Andrei Perebyinis being rotated.
