Highland start there season with an away trip to United 1908.
The team will hope to perform better than last season and the
clubs owners want the team to be pushing for promotion.
The manager spoke to the gathered press and was unbeaten about
the team’s chances. He was happy with the new players that have
come into the squad but also stated that the club are still
looking at several players and the squad he starts the season
with is not the finished item.
Looking at the first game United finished a couple of place
ahead of Highland in the table last season and this game will be
a good chance to see how we have improved our squad. Asked if
any of the new players will be included in the starting 11 he
said we will have to wait and see, but there will be a lot of
squad rotation during the season.

to start with a home match. The preseason went ok and we are
satisfied how the new faces have all bedded in and are looking
forward to challenge on all fronts, but if your honest we all
aspire to that at the beginning of every new season. The target
had to be a league challenge and at least one trophy, lofty
aspirations some might say but we have to continue how we
started no matter how many new faces we bring in. Manchester
United wont be any easy starter they where up there all they
way last season and we had some hard matches against them. We
are looking for all three points but it will be a nervous game
on one hand but will also be good to get back into the groove
again.

Opening game is at home but with a new season it means little
other than maybe a slight advantage.
That said our opponents are a very strong side with a high
rating across the board which is doubly clear not only from the
ratings but also from the high wage cost for the club which will
possibly affect them more than result during the season. They
have a lot of high reated players wanting big minutes this
season!
We start with a squad we are hopeful of and happy with and will
be loking to be well clear of relegation like last season. For
this opener we have a fit squad but will look to mix it up to
have a good mix but have good players out in all games and
maximising minutes for players.

Not a great deal of transfer activity at the champions this
pre-season.
Anders Limt was brought back to the club to offer more
versatility in midfield,
experienced centreback Shane Eagles along with full back John
Alexander moved on to pastures new.
Andy Brooming has been made captain for this season and talisman
Marcentos (Oli) is epxected to pull the strings in midfield,
fresh from picking up an injury which kept him out for most of
the Wildlife Trust Trophy.
Notoriously the champions from the previous season always
struggle in the first half of the following season
and we will be hoping to avoid that fate this time around.
Robbaillie led Division Two for most of last season but fell
away in the last few games
allowing Golden Eagles FC to become champions but their form was
still good enough to win them promotion.
We'll have to be on our game and play well to get a result.
Prediction: Home win

After losing in the playoffs last season and just missing out on
promotion
the team are ready to go for the new Division Two season.
There have been a few comings and goings in pre-season with the
main objective
being strength in depth.
Rui Hikkara has been brought in on loan form Kyushu to offer
some options in midfield.
Jenkins Roles takes the armband with Anders Streng offring some
more firepower up front.
It will be a difficult opening game as we travel to Iceland to
take on many peoples favourites for the title.
They have done some good business and look a completely
different squad to what was Sky Blues last season.
Prediction: Home win

Golden Eagles FC face any away match to Darlington All Stars in
their first game in Division One. It'll be a stern test for the
Tampere based side, but they will be hoping to get a good result
to open then too flight account.
The division 2 champions went through some big changes during
the pre-season with longterm Eagles player Alessio Kovacic
leaving for Nikara Dragons. Jans Goisthalt and Min So Jouy also
moved to rivals Helsinki Hellhounds. All 3 men played important
roles last season, but their replacements are or equally high
quality, Diog Guillems and Jack Groves from Hellhounds and Bryan
Prittwick from Dragons.
Darío Buorrin will lead his team out today, this being his first
league game as club captain. Eagles had an almost flawless
pre-season, with 6 victories (including a friendly win against
Rael Nerrad and beating Sarnians in the Wildlife Trust Trophy
5/6th final.) The only blip was a defeat to Nerrad on penalties.
In the pre-mtach press conference, Eagles manager Dave Rosewell
commented "We have had an excellent pre-season and the new lads
are finding their feet pretty fast. We have our eyes firmly set
on silverware this season and I am confident that we can deliver
for the fans and the board."

Reykjavik Reapers' opening division 2 match will be against
Cockney Cockrells. Reapers have had a very good pre-season,
coming 7th overall in the Wildlife Trust Trophy and also beating
Cockrells in a pre-season friendly.
Reapers have gone through a total overhaul in the preseaon, as
Sky Blues they were pretty much a mid-table team, but now under
new management they have a real chance of glory.
Only Enzo Julliene survived the cull when Dave Rosewell took
over as caretaker and he has bought in some great talent. Andrei
Perebyinis Beka Kechakmadze joined from United 1908, while new
captain Vilo Fleuss joined from Helsinki Hellhounds to name but
a few.
Reapers look good for a home win here, they have the strength
and the skill, but maybe not as much experience as the visitors.

Sarnians vs Sunset Knights
The campaign proper starts this week, after a mixed pre season.
We dominated the group games in the pre season tournament a
swept aside our opposition, but this was book ended by some less
than convincing performances and results.
We start at full strength with a number of full debuts across
the side, Laszlo Kiss has been in wonderful goal scoring form,
as have a number of midfielders. But will our Achilles heel of a
defence have it in them??
