With Golden Eagles FC finishing top of group 3, that put them
into the pool of the top 8 teams from the group stages, as them
and 7 other teams duke it out to see who are the best of the
best. This could give us a great preview what to expect for this
season.
Eagles are drawn against rivals Rael Nerrad in an echo of their
pre-season friendly, that Eagles won 3-1. Eagles are at full
strength, but will rotate again to keep players fresh for match
4 or 6. While Nerrad will be missing their star man Oli
Marcentos, who is out injured. Even with them missing their best
player, Nerrad are still the division 1 champions and will be
looking for a measure of revenge.

Reykjavík Reapers also qualified for the top 8 shoot out of the
best finishing teams. They finished 6th best over all as group 1
winners and that pitches them against fellow division 2 new
comers Dusseldorf Dragons. The German outfit maybe managerless,
but they still won 3 games in a row while topping group 5,
beating the likes of Cockney Cockrells, Sunset Knights and
Tranmere Titans.
Both teams will be missing their first choice keepers with
Rafael Alvarado out for Reapers and D. Friedhelm out for
Dragons. However, Reapers are also missing Aksel Mikkelsen and
Anders Nylander through suspension, after they picked up red
cards against Eastern Whirlwinds. So they have a somewhat
skeleton midfield, handing starts to Bogdan Novovolynsk and Enzo
Julliene, as well as José Villatane being on the bench.
