Welcome to The Reaper Review, the official Reykjavík Reapers
news source. As pre-season hots up with the Wildlife Trust
Trophy, we take a look at what has been happening at one of the
newest outfits in OFMC. Reapers (FKA Sky Blues) have gone
through a total overhaul, many of the former players have been
either replaced or let go. Jo Phillipe, John Salako, Suzaka and
Noel_Whelan were all let go via the ATM before new caretaker
manager Dave Rosewell was barely through the door. The only
player to survive the mass cull was Enzo Julliene.
There was still dealing to be done after then even, with the
squad size still a little on large side and Eagles manager
handing the chairman a list of players he desired.
- First up, a strong centre-half in the form of 6'3" Italian
Enzo_Fratelli was signed from the pre-season auction for a
whopping £138mil!
- Next up former Golden Eagles FC Uzbekistani defender Ali
Dzhanibekov was picked up from Cockney Cockrells, with Nigeran
Kelvin Uche and £5mil going the other way.
- number 1 target Vilo Fleuss was signed from Helsinki
Hellhounds in exchange for Spencer Mason (now at Golden Eagles
FC) and £42mil. The German defensive midfielder has since been
given the captain's armband.
- Japanese wing-back Ayho Kushimo was then bought in on season
long loan from Kyushu Yakuza.
- Midfield duo of Australian Scott Romano and Costa Rican
Nicolás Centeno were sold to Nikara Dragons for a cool £90mil
for the pair.
- Reapers defence then received another boost in the form of
Beka Kechakmadze from United 1908 who impressed when Dave
Rosewell took temporay charge during last season. Sebastián
Ansaldi and Tage Grøgaard went the other way.
- Another deal was struck between Reapers and United shortly
afterwards, star player midfielder Andrei Perebyinis was swooped
up along with forward Artem Kolinko. Scot defender Kevin
Johnstone and Brazilian midfielder Osvaldino going to United
- And lastly, another former Eagles player was signed, this time
from Nikara Dragons, Belarusian left-back Danik Marashko
reuniting with his former boss. Suprisingly Angolan defender
Frederico De Pâizo went the other way.
