Dragons welcome in form Highland
A few weeks back this was a game the Nikara Dragons might have
felt they had an advantage in. At that point the league table
said showed that the Highland Rangers had played 14 games for 2
points with a goal difference reflective of that record. Now
three weeks later they are the form team in the division with 3
wins on the bounce including victories over the Cockney
Cockrells and the Hellsinki Hellhounds!!
Where has this form come from?
Maybe someone much smarter than me with have a good answer for
this but i'm sticking with the flagrantly obvious. This squad is
far too good to have a record like that. There's good quality
throughout the squad and an excellent blend of youth and
experience.
In goal 16 rated Zandor Steele mans the starting spot. He's a
quality second division goalkeeper with only 3 better across the
league and he's played every minute of the season proving his
'steel' (sorry...).
Only the juggernaut Golden Eagles have a defender better than
veteran Welsh legend Rodger Davies and his 16 rated tackling and
to be honest there's not really many that even match him. Stav
Ravnock, the American superstar, partners him and at 15 rated
form a strong tandem. Alongside those two are two highly rated
teenage prodigies Steve Bowen (14/12/11) and Diode Navrick
(13/11/11) proving the future is bright in the Highlands. Jonas
Lentz and Martin Savers get plenty of game time and offer
excellent dual skill giving the Rangers depth and quality.
In midfield its a similar story where top tier veteran players
like Haer McKinnon and Justin Poppy partner with up and coming
stars. The best of these is 18 year old Oliver Dunst who
balances 13 rated passing with 10 rated tackling and shooting.
Juan Piollo is 14 rated at just 20 years old so is likely to
develop quickly over the next two years.
Up front the star name is not the highest rated but is the guy
with the most potential. Jiang Zuya was brought in this season
and at just 18 years old offers 11 rated passing and 13 rated
shooting. What stands out is his willingness at such a young age
to press the defense and with 11 rated tackling he'll be sure to
create a load of turnover ball in dangerous areas.
So what does this mean?
It means the Dragons, despite being the home team and playing
the cauldron at Sinegard Stadium, will find themselves as
underdogs. Poor form and a need to juggle less talented players
to make up minute deficits mean it will be a slog and with the
Rangers being the form team its hard to imagine the Dragons will
be confident. That said it is less than a month since the
Rangers were the bottom club in the division and maybe they'll
revert back to that form. Doesn't look likely though

[move][glow=red,2,300]Helsinki_Hellhounds vs
Thames_Ironworks[/glow][/move]
Overview
Ironworks currently sit in 10th place with just 16 points
whereas Helsinki sit in 4th with 30 points. On paper this should
be a comfortable home win for Helsinki but it doesn't always pan
out that way as recent results in the division have shown. The
team will need to be on top form to ensure they win the game and
take a crucial three points in the promotion race.
Team news
Ironworks are fully fit and fully available.
Helsinki are fully fit and fully available.
Well that was easy! May the squad stay fit and available for the
remainder of the season.
Recent Helsinki signing Patrobe is in line for another start as
he bids to meet his minutes requirements for the season. Cluster
is expected to be brought back into the starting 11 also.
Form guide
Helsinki Hellhounds WWWLDL (league form)
Three without a win now, things are looking more bleak by the
week. Helsinki have lost some ground and must get back to
winning ways this weekend.
Thames Ironworks LDWLLW (league form)
Thames' form has been indifferent with a bit of everything but
they will be buoyed by their win last time against Cockney
Cockrells!
Players to watch
Newman is the man that gets the goals, so Thames will look to
him.
Helsinki will look to DeDavis Roy and Shephard in midfield to
ensure Kiss get's the service he needs to make a difference up
front.
Manager's mouthful
"Its been a tough time for the club of late. Since the fairytale
start came to an end the wheels have come off. Its time to get
back to our bread and butter, keep it a bit simpler and not over
think things. The squad is in great shape, we just need to
ensure that we deliver on the field.
We won't be underestimating our opponents who have some quality
players and showed last time out that they can upset any team in
the league. We plan to be at our best for this one."

Sarnians vs Acorn Academicals
Having qualified for the cup final, we have a few matches now to
rotate the squad and give opportunities to the younger players
in the squad. To that effect Genge, Sanders and Tuipers are
starting in defence. Sol, Esteboso and Staggs start in midfield
too.
Karrar retains his place at number 9, and we are looking to show
our attacking and possession based football of the last few
weeks.

Highland travel to Nikara Dragons looking to continue there good
run of form with a fourth victory in a row, which has seen them
lift themselves of the bottom of the table. They will have a
full squad to choose form as both suspended players from last
week are able to play.
Rumours are that young striker Watkins may play some part in
this game as the manger looks to bring in new players ready for
next season’s campaign. The manager has said that this run of
games shows what the club can do but it is to late in the season
to allow the to achieve the goal of promotion to the top league.
Therefore fans will see different players being given chances to
get some game time over the last few league games.
The squad is now a good age mix and the manager is looking to
the seasoned players to help him develop the younger players.
Going forward the team must look at these younger player to
provide the backbone of the team and in turn pass on the
experience to the new players that join the team.
The manager also stated that he is still looking to bring in a
couple of players to improve the squad depth but will need to
move some players out as the club has to manger its wage bill.

100pts
Golden Eagles FC travel to Eastern Whirlwinds for match day 18
of Division 2. Eagles sit 2nd with 9 wins, 6 draws and 2 defeats
and they are 2 points behind top spot. While Whirlwinds are
bottom with 2 wins, 5 draws and 10 defeats. Eagles look good for
a win on paper, although the home side did hold them to a 2-2 at
Eagles Stadium earlier in the season.
Both sides are missing 3 players apiece through suspensions.
Eagles are without defensive duo Domenic Torcaso and Kai
Matsumoto, with Taavi Ruusumäki and Danik Marashko taking their
places. They are also missing defensive midfield anchor-man
Rodrigo Desábato, so Min So Jouy will be stepping into his roll,
which is familiar to him from earlier in the season. This means
Angelo Nazari will keep his place in the centre of midfield
alongside Darío Bourrin. Whirlwinds are without 3 defenders
themselves, Indio Volante, Chon Wai and Don Mortimer are all
missing, leaving them very weak at the back.
"We had a lot of luck last weekend, with our 3 main rivals all
losing. It has helped us leap into 2nd and we are with in
touching distance of top spot. We don't expect a repeat of last
weekend however, so we have to perform well to make sure we keep
the pressure up! Missing 3 lads doesn't make that easy, but with
have such a wealth of depth and experience, so I feel good about
our chances."
Elsewhere Robbaillie Escocia are at home to Sky Blues, Cockney
Cockrells are at home to United 1908 and Helsinki Hellhounds are
at home to Thames Ironworks. Escocia and Hellhounds certainly
have the easier of those fixtures, as United are some what
resurgent under caretaker manager Dave Rosewell, so Cockrells
will have their work cut out.

100pts
Caretaker manager Dave Rosewell faces his toughest test so far
under his stewardship of United 1908, as they travel to East
London to face Cockney Cockrells. Cockrells have lost 2 and won
1 in the past 3 weeks, scoring 6 and conceding 6. While United
have won 2, drawn 1, scoring 6 and conceding 0. Form favours the
visitors, but Cockrells are mighty at home.
United will be buoyed however by the absence of Cockrells' top
scorer (with 16 goals) Otto Bismark through suspension. Of
course Handle Funky is pretty "handy" upfront with 14 goals
himself and recent signing Andres Streng will no doubt feature.
United have no absentees, although their main worries are player
minutes, with a couple still a little short of their the OFMC
FA's targets.
United have a couple of new signings themselves, former
Cockrells' midfielder Ady Tupperman looks set to start. While
fellow new signing Lewys Gallahad (signed in an 11th hour deal
from Nikara Dragons before last night's transfer deadline) will
likely not feature.
"We have an outside chance of getting a good result here, that
would boost are play-off prospects. However, it is certainly
going to be a tough game, Cockrells haven't lost at home in the
league, so I we would be happy with even a draw here."
United sit 8 points behind 5th placed Kingfisher Dolphins, so a
play-off spot is still very much an outside chance. Ahead of
them are AFC Coventry (by 6 points) and Nikara Dragons (by 2
points). Dolphins and Coventry play each other today, while
Dragons face in-form Highland Rangers.

its a game we cant afford to lose as we sit 3rd in the table and
4 points from top spot after our cup win in midweek to reach the
final and with olaff being sent off he will miss this game
hopefully it wont be much of a blow and we can at least get a
point

Kyushu Yakuza vs Darlington All Stars
We go looking for a bounce back after a brain fart of midweek
game but that happened to be a semi final, so we suffer the
consequences. We have one player suspended so Oda is the only
player not up for selection. Darlington are midtable and will be
a dangerous opposition and we are not expecting anything and
going fight for the points to keep the pressure
