Hellhound howler: Round up!
Interest cools on Ady_Sanders
Earlier this season the Hellhounds were heavily linked with
pursuing the transfer of Ady Sanders from Div One Sarnians. The
player is 18 and in keeping with the youthful squad that
Helsinki are compiling for the future. However, interest seems
to have cooled off from steaming hot to distinctly cold.
Sources close to the club have suggested that there are deep
concerns about the player's character. Not only has the player
been regularly late to training and team meetings, but the
player has also been involved in an alleged affair with team
mate Raffi Kaffar's girlfriend. There is therefore doubt whether
he is the right fit for the club and sometimes that is just as
important as the skills offered.
Fantastic form leaves fans happy
100% records don't last forever. At some point they come to and
end. But so far the new manager boasts a 100% record from his
time at the helm. Not only have there been five wins on the
bounce, both clubs have scored in every game to date! 21 goals
scored, 8 conceded, almost an average of 6 goals per game,
despite the opposition coming to set up for a low scoring game
in many cases. The fans and the neutrals have been left
entertained so far!

EA cup Rd2 Wolves 2 - 5 Helsinki Hellhounds

Club considers further stadium expansion
The club recently completed an upgrade to their stadium moving
from 30,000 to 40,000 seats and the club instantly filled out
their stadium for the home game with AFC Coventry. It is
understood that with the growing fan base and seemingly bright
future ahead, the club will pursue a further expansion to ensure
revenues will keep up with the elite clubs in the league in the
seasons to come. Feasibility studies are already underway and an
official application could be made to the league to ratify the
plans in the near future.

Guncalves signs on the dotted line
Helsinki moved this week to further bolster their attacking
midfield line up with the signing of establish AM Ole Guncalves
from Highland. As part of the deal the club bid farewell to Zuya
who it is understood was falling behind Harrisjones in the
pecking order.
The player had this to say: "I want to progress at this stage of
my career. I have a huge amount to offer and I'm looking forward
to joining up with the team and delivering on the pitch very
soon. I know we have Laszlo out and he's a fantastic talisman
for the team, so I will do my very best to score on my debut and
help the team to success."
Stadium expansion confirmed
The builders and the diggers never even left the site. No sooner
were the upgrades to 40,000 complete, than work began on
upgrading to a state of the art 50,000 all seater stadium. The
new developments will help to bridge the gap from being a Div
Two to Div One club.
Ms Minutes keeping tabs
Ms Minutes has been hired following her time at the TVA (Time
Variance Authority) where she was recently fired and is now in
charge of ensuring the club's players keep to their minutes
allowances. Her first report was as follows:
1) Excellent progress is being made towards ensuring players
meet their minutes.
2) Met minutes: Key players to have already met their minutes
are goalkeeper Hikkara, defender Dyachenko (by virtue of being a
former captain) and forwards Laszlo Kiss (current captain) and
Harrisjones
3) Several players are now within five games of meeting their
minutes including Reece_Evans, Guam_Honest, DeDavis_Roy,
Shephard from the first teamer
4) Some work needs to be done to keep fringe players to meeting
their minutes

Hellhound Howler: Coaching staff updates
The club has no doubt been performing well on the pitch and
delivering a string of victories which makes everyone happy. But
that does not mean that the Chairman and the manager are resting
on their laurels. No sir! The club recently went out and hired
three new coaches to compliment their coaching staff.
Why did they hire new coaches
A couple of reasons could be behind the hires. Firstly, the club
hadn't kept a clean sheet in a number of games. This was
considered partly due to the defence but partly due to the young
new goalkeeper. The club were therefore keen to improve on this.
In addition, it was also noted by the club's statisticians that
they were routinely converted a smaller proportion of shots into
goals than their opponents, meaning they had to significantly
out shoot their opponents in order to win matches - something
which isn't realistically sustainable over the longer term.
Who did they hire?
They have made three key hires:
Antti Niemi as goalkeeping coach
Sami Hyypia as defence coach
Jari Litmanen as striking coach
Antti Niemi - overview
Antti is a local who brings a wealth of experience. He began his
professional career in Helsinki and went on to play 67 games for
the national team as well as featuring in successful teams such
as Glasgow Rangers in Scotland and Southampton in the Premier
League. He has been charged with helping Nikkara become a world
class goalkeeper.
Sami Hyypia - overview
Perhaps Finnish football's finest ever defender. He has joined
to help improve the defensive capabilities of the team. Hyypia
won over 100 caps for the national side, won Finnish player of
the year 10 times (!!!) and played over 300 times for Liverpool
winning multiple trophies. He will bring know how and tactic
nous to the club. He also briefly managed following his
retirement from the game.
Jari Litmanen - overview
Chosen as the best Finnish player of the last 50 years (don't
mention that to Sami though), Litmanen had an impressive career
scoring over 200 goals and assisting many more. He most famously
played for the fantastic Ajax side of the 1990s but also had a
spell at Helsinki prior to that. Finnish player of the year a
mere 9 times he also placed 3rd in the 1995 Ballon d'Or.
Litmanen brings top quality know how in the art of creating and
scoring goals. He'll be helping the attacking midfielders
improve their output and Laszlo Kiss and Harrisjones to improve
their conversion rates.
Immediate impact?
Within a week of joining the back room staff it could well be
that they have had an immediate effect. The defence managed to
restrict their opponents to the fewest chances with the new
manager in charge and their first clean sheet. Whilst up front,
well, they went bananas scoring 9 goals from 35 shots with 63%
of shots on target and a conversion rate of almost 26%. Let's
hope it continues!

Hellhound holwer: Manager reprimands transfer team
Sources inside Helsinki Hellhounds have confirmed that the
manager was over heard tearing strips off the club's transfer
team following two failures in one week.
Failure one - Bowen slips through the clubs grasp.
Since joining the club it is clear the types of players that the
club has pursued. One key element is young, hungry, future
superstars who have capabilities across all areas of the pitch.
Bowen very much fits the mould and is the type of player the
manager had instructed his scouts and transfer team to be on the
look out for. It was therefore disappointing to see the club
miss out on a player they would have loved to have signed if
available. Indeed the club had previously made enquiries last
month but a deal could not be struck.
Failure two - Suspension and confusion leads to missing
Tallehasse
The other area where the club's squad is lacking is a second
forward to compliment Kiss or replace him when unavailable. So
when it became clear Tallehasse was potentially available for a
cash deal the club put down 55 million. Unfortunately it
transpired the player was suspended at the same time as Kiss, so
the deal was put on pause til the weekend. The selling manager
was clear on time scales and leading bids. It was unbelievable
that the transfer team simply went away for the weekend and
missed the deadline! The player was sold for a cheap fee of 50
million.
From the manager's perspective, those were two players who
would've complimented the club beautifully. But, the club moves
forward and will have to consider other options in their pursuit
of improving the team. The manager was said to have recovered
some sense of balance later that day as he recalled how the
transfer team had worked tirelessly when he took over to improve
the side.

Hellhound howler: Pre Christmas Round up
Santa's sack
Santa and his elves have been all too busy this past week and
it's still only the 22nd of December! First there was the early
gift of changing club captain. In more recent days as the 6 days
of Christmas kicks off for the league we've seen offerings of
minutes to dish out, secondary skills and boosting lower skilled
keepers. Quite the gluttony of gifts for clubs to delight in.
The Hellhounds are holding off spending their minutes until
after their final game before the Christmas break so they know
exactly where they stand.
But for their free secondaries there was a complete difference
of opinion at the club. Some of the club's staff believed that
the highest skilled player should be boosted to create a
secondary rating of 16 passing for Lazslo Kiss. While others had
the belief that Kiss was there to score goals, not pass to
teammates. They were of the view that midfielders should be
boosted and take it as an opportunity to boost high passing
Tanaka and turn him into a more rounded midfielder. In the end
it looks like the later option has won out for the wider benefit
of the team.
New faces to join threadbare defence
It is rare that the self conceited manager admits his short
comings. But its understood that in private he has admitted he
went too far too soon in trimming his first team squad. Recent
posts to the league confirming transfer deals appear to indicate
that the club are looking to bring in two defenders. The first
is established defender Mason Paint who will slot straight into
the back line. The second is "one for the future" in the form of
Craig Cluster who has the potential to be a high quality player
in future. Both deals are still awaiting confirmation but it is
hoped they will go through in time for this weekend's final game
of the year.
Time to start a new run
All good things must come to an end. That is almost inevitable
and in mid week the club's proud 100% winning run under the new
manager came to an end with a 1 - 0 defeat. The manager has
rallied his players this week and reminded them that it is their
duty to get back on a winning run. The best clubs don't lose
multiple games in a row and so they'll be hoping for an
immediate return to form.

Hellhound howler: Round up!
Sacrificial lamb
Signed one day, decimated the next. Its been a tough old season
for Craig Cluster. Overlooked all season at Robbaillie Escocia,
plucked out of obscurity by Helsinki Hellhounds, then used to
boost another player at his expense thanks to Santa's gifts.
Ouch. As the dust settles on this one, a player who was a decent
prospect for the future has only one route which is via the A T
M and collecting his P45. And at Christmas....
Ady Sanders pursuit ends
We tried, we tried some more and we tried again. We were willing
to break the bank to get him in, but its clear this is one which
isn't going to happen sadly. We genuinely thought that there was
a potential win win deal to be done here which would be
beneficial for both clubs. But sadly this doesn't appear to be
the case. The club will therefore move on to other targets.
Shepard reprimanded
The club has fined midfield starlet Shephard 1 week's wage after
it transpired he joined in a minced pie eating contest less than
24 hours prior to their crucial clash against Robbaille Escocia.
If reports are to be believed he ate an impressive 18 minced
pies, placing in third place. But the player had not sought
permission from the club and will pay a hefty price as a result.
As a gesture of goodwill, the club plans to donate the player
fine to a local food bank. 1

[move]Hellhound howler: Pursuit of targets intensifies! [/move]
Hellhounds target world class talent
The Hellhound transfer team have hit the ground running since
Christmas and have begun targeting world class talent from the
rest of the league. Their remit is quite clear, sign one or two
world class players to help move the team forward and drive them
to future success. Their pursuit of one or two players has been
widely publicised but ultimately unsuccessful despite some huge
offers which may still have fallen fowl of league approval at
the processing stage. But the club remains in the market for the
very best players.
What are they after?
World class is ambiguous, but it is thought to include the best
senior talent. Examples of those players include Bourrin at
Golden Eagles, Oli Marcentos at Rael Nerrad and Caoimhin_Og at
Kyushu Yakuza. From a youth perspective it includes the likes of
Taylor at Nikarka, Ady Sanders at Sarnians and Bowen at Highland
Rangers. Basically the top class youths and the top seniors.
What are they willing to pay?
[move]WHATEVER. IT. TAKES. [/move]The club are clear, they are
open for business. They are blessed with a talented squad and an
eye watering amount of money in the bank. The will offer
multiple high quality players for the right target and are
willing to pay a large sum for the right player. If you are
interested in cashing in then absolutely get in touch with
Helsinki Hellhounds to see what kind of deal can be made. The
club firmly believes that win - win deals are absolutely
achievable at this time where the selling club gets one heck of
a deal and Helsinki get a star player that they are craving.
For now, the club are yet to secure any of their targets and so
negotiations will continue to try and improve the squad as we
head towards the business end of the season.

Hellhound howler: MOTM edition
Announced
After an impeccable December league campaign with 4 wins from 4
matches, it came as little surprise when Helsinki Hellhounds won
manager of the month for the second consecutive month. The
manager commented:
"We're delighted to be honoured with this award for a second
month running. The players have consistently delivered in the
league and this is credit to them. From a personal perspective
its satisfying for this to reflect my management over that
period and the work I've done with the players and back room
staff. This is evidence that what we are doing is working so
far..."
Results
11. Helsinki_Hellhounds 4 - 2 AFC_Coventry
12. Sky_Blues 2 - 4 Helsinki_Hellhounds
13. Helsinki_Hellhounds 9 - 0 United_1908
14. Helsinki_Hellhounds 4 - 0 Robbailie_Escocia
Stat attack
21 goals scored at an average of over 5 per game
4 goals conceded at an average of 1 per game
3 home games no doubt made life easier
1 goal only for top scorer Lazslo Kiss out of the 21 scored!
21 goal scorers spread across 10 scorers
13 assists spread across 8 players
League goal scorers in December:
E_Shephard (4); OLE_GUNCALVES (3); Gyuszi_Hont (3); B_Prittwick
(3); A_DYACHENKO (2); Reece_Evans (2); Laszlo_Kiss; DeDavis_Roy;
Musa_Tuzmen; Guam_Honest
League assists in December:
Reece_Evans (3); B_Prittwick (3); Laszlo Kiss (2); Guam_Honest;
OLE_GUNCALVES; C_HARRISJONES; E_Shephard; DeDavis_Roy
Word of caution
The club understands that Robbaillie Escocia won the manager of
the month back to back in the first two months of this season,
then has fallen backwards since then. They will be mindful that
the same fate could become them and so a big push will be needed
once again to sustain the club's current form.

Hellhound howler: New Year's Resolutions / goals for 2024
With 2024 just around the corner, we headed over to the
Hellhound training complex to chat to the manager and playing
staff and ask them about their top New Year's resolutions or
goals that they are making for the year ahead.
The manager
"To spend a little less time meddling in transfers. We've done a
lot of business, we should probably settle it down a bit and let
the players bed in for the rest of the season."
Star forward Laszlo Kiss
"Simple, I want to score more regularly. I've been performing
well in training but just haven't delivered on the pitch over
the past month. Its time to get back on from."
Youngster Craig Cluster
"I want to train hard and do my best to get a bit more game
time. I've just joined and nearly got sacrificed over the
festive period but my position in the squad looks solid for
now."
Midfield maestro Shephard
"I want to dominate from midfield and become the best midfielder
in the division. That is why I'm going vegan for 2024. I hear it
does wonders to your energy levels and will hopefully help me
stay fit and use up less energy in games."

Hellhound howlers - Nap time
Christmas flew past. Either side of it seemed like game after
game after game. Since we took over at the club we had a midweek
league cup group game, league game, EA cup knock out game,
league game, a solitary Wednesday off, league game, league cup
leg 1, league game, league cup leg 2, league game... then
finally a "rest" for the Christmas break - but not one where the
players recovered at all, no they were all still shattered - and
now this year already a midweek knock out cup game and a league
game.
The players are shattered.
The staff are shattered.
Even the kit man's washing machine is broken and in need of
repair.
And so whilst it comes with great disappoint, it also comes with
great relief that the club have only their second free Wednesday
since the new manger took over. Sure they'd love to be playing
in the later stages of cup competitions and that will be a goal
for next season, but right now the players need a rest.
Midfield starlet Shephard is playing at 94% only currently.
Youngster Dyachenko in defence is down at 95% too.
The improving Tanaka has slid down to 95% as well.
As has forward Laszlo Kiss who has forgotten where the goal is!!
Shykarenko looks tired at 95% in midfield too.
So the management have decided it is time for a well earned
break. Put your feet up this week, no training on Wednesday. In
fact, we're hosting a pizza and beer party to say well done to
the lads. 8 wins and 3 defeats is a good record over the past
while. Get the rest in, get those muscles massaged, and look
forward to playing an exhausted Eagles side at the weekend. An
inside source said: "We look forward to seeing how many they
have left standing after midweek, injuries, suspensions and
maybe some extra time would do well to give us an even greater
advantage come Saturday."
