Sarnians 4-0 Nikara Dragons
Well having gone 2-0 up in 3 minutes this was a regulation win
and performance to boot, we saunter into the third round/quarter
final which is a welcome boost for the fans.
We will be keeping a close eye on the draw!

All in an Honest days work
Wolves 2 Helsinki 5
A commanding performance from the unseeded last 16 side who
played away from home. It was honest-ly a very comfortable
victory which will give the team confidence as we move towards
the second half of the season.
Honest got the show on the road in the 16th minute with a fine
strike. Despite being pegged back immediately, goals from Evans
and Hont put the away side in command by half time. Impressive
youngster Harrisjones added a 4th before Daniel Mason himself
got a consolation goal which only angered Prittwick into scoring
a second.
The man of the match was honest-lay a foregone conclusion. Guam
Honest romped away with it with 2 assists and a goal. He’s some
player that lad.
Onto the next round where we hope for a home tie at our newly
reopened 50,000 seater stadium

Golden Eagles FC hit Pomey Chimes for 6 in a EA Cup 2nd round 9
goal thriller. Although Eagles had the slightly stronger team on
paper, Pompey were boosted by a boisterous home crowd. The 3-6
score line was maybe a little harsh on the home side, both sides
had 8 shots on target, the keepers were certainly difference
makers today.
The away side were the first out of the blocks in the 5th
minute, with Jans Goisthalt's sweet half-volley to make it 1-0.
Pompey were quickly on level terms though, through Merryfield
barely a minute later. Eagles were then back in front in the 9th
minute, Atrem Poltorak's cross was met by Pavel Chernyshev's
left foot and the Russian smashed the ball home to make it 2-1.
The action was end to end, as McGloughlin found Merryfield and
the Scot equalised for his team again in the 24th minute. The
goals kept coming, as at the other end captain Domenic Torcaso
scored his first goal of the season just after Eagles kick-off,
3-2! Goisthalt then made it 4-2 in the 37th minute, as Eagles
began to turn the screws on their opponents.
After a breathless first half, in which they trailed 2-4, Pompey
really needed life line and that was provided by Anderton 2
minutes after the restart. Kamil Uzbaezanov thought he had done
enough, clearing the ball off the line, but the ref judged it to
have gone over! The home side were back in it.
That was until the 59th minute, when Glen Johnson's back pass
rolled past the hapless David James after he slipped over!
Chernyshev then put the game out of reach on the hour mark with
his 2nd and Eagles' 6th of the game. After that, they pretty
much shut the door on Pompey as they threw everything at the
Eagles defence, but could not find back of the net again. The
game finished 6-3 to the away side, with Pavel Chernyshev and
Jans Goisthalt, along with keeper Kamil Uzbaezanov putting in
great performances. Danik Marashko also had another good game,
while Andre's Limt had a decent outing in midfield, while
Alessio Kovacic was fairly quite as Pompey had him well marked.
Dave Rosewell's worries about picking up too many bookings
proved to unfounded, as only Taavi Ruusumäki went in the ref's
book for body checking Andre Lopez.
"I think this was the kind of game that the neutral would love
to watch, with the end to end action and goals galore. Pompey
were certainly a tough opposition, but we held our ground,
stayed focused and kept our noses clean. We are keen to see who
we'll face in the next round."

What a night for the neutral fan, six goals, extra-time and a
sudden death penalty shoot out that went to penalty number 14.
the game started bad for us as we went behind in the seventh
minute but where able to pull it back to level you devils, two
minutes later, when William Jones delicately headed the ball
home from close range. acorns went into half time with a 2-1
lead thanks to Popolov scoring roughly six minutes before the
break.
William Jones was having a good game, one of his better games of
the season so far and drew us back level again on 51st minute
when he chipped the keeper and we went on to take the lead for
the first time two minutes later when the defender miskicked the
ball and it flew into his own goal but that didn't last that
long as Acorn drew all square on the 64th minute/
From then on the game became like a basketball match, your turn,
no my turn back and fourth but with no net being hit at all and
the game went to penalties after 120 pulsating minutes.
Its like they say there are really no ready made heroes in
penalties, just one keeper is going make the save or some poor
sucker is going sky the ball thinking hes good enough to put the
ball in the top corner. Well lucky for us, on loan Okuninushi
was the hero today saving two of the seven penalties he faced.
Just like its been all season we are doing well in the cups and
trash in the league, we got to get the monkey of our back in the
league and improve there.[/font]

You know sometimes you shouldn't open your big mouth, we went
into this game very confident it would be a walk in the park but
oh my god did Coventry give us more of a game than was expected.
After the last match our strike team got a right rollicking and
it looked like it hit its mark when Jack Groves put Caoihmin Og
through and with just one thing on his mind he powered home his
shot and that was just on the third minute. HIs strike partner
was to get in on the act just before the 30 minute mar k when he
was put through by the impressive Leda Cygnus and rifled home
into top bins, all's well on the western front as we where
pushing along as we expected, but in the space at seven minutes
it looked like the site of a natural disaster as we went from
cruising the game to being all square and half time did not come
at any better a time for Yakuza.
For the second time in a matter of days the team got told the
riot act and torn apart verbally, and the same eleven wher put
out to rectify there mistakes. It took only four minutes for
things to right themselves when Jack Groves grabbed his second
of the match when he latched on to a ricochet of a defender and
slotted home to restore our lead. SZOBOSZLAI stretched the
league on the hour with a devasting strike and the boys held
that lead to final whistle. Fair play to Coventry they gave us a
game and we where sweating for minute but all's good and now we
need go and try iron out the errors.[/font]
