Eagles were left frustrated at home by their opponents, AFC
Coventry, as the 2 sides played out a 0-0 draw. Coventry were
set up well and had plenty of men behind the ball. Eagles
weren't helped of course by Captain Domenic Torcaso being sent
off for kicking an opposing player! It was a disgusting act by
the young Aussie and manager Dave Rosewell was furious.
He had no choice but to bring off Jans Goisthalt and put on
Mauro Sotomayor to sure up the defence. So not only were Eagles
were a man down, their attacking oppositions were also somewhat
blunted.
Despite this, the home side still had the bulk of the chances
with Pavel Chernyshev an Taavi Ruusumäki going close. However
the Coventry keeper pulled off a string of stunning saves. In
contrast, Kamil Uzbaezanov had a relativity quiet game, as his
defender snuffed out much of the away side's attacking threat.
Eric Van Oist even got the Man of the Match award for his
defensive display.
Dave Rosewell wasn't available for comment after the game, no
doubt still livid about his captain's conduct. The draw sees
Eagles slip back to 3rd and are now 6 points off the lead after
Robbaillie Escocia thrashed United 1908 and Cockney Cockerells
beat Helsinki Hellhounds.

my poor form in the world of esms now effects this team as we
put on a poor performance and now drop down to 3rd will i do
what i always do and blow it again long way to go yet but not
happy with the way things are going

Sarnians 2-1 Manchester United
The 70,000 in Deadman’s Alley showed up in fine vocal spirits
and did not leave disappointed! The tweak of implementing an
anchor man continued and as many of the first team returned to
the starting line up, the system clicked and we deservedly beat
the league leaders.
Pavlov and Ajak combined in the opening minutes to start us off
with a goal. Less than 20 minutes later it was 2-0 as Merlin
doubled the lead.
United pulled one back before halftime which made the second
half a very tense and lively affair which we had the lions share
of, limiting United to just one chance on target in the second
half.
The win moves us up to 5th and closes the gap to the top to 5
points, but more over a world of confidence after a stuttering
start to the season.

The away tie to Cockney Cockerells was certainly a game to
forget for Helsinki Hellhounds and for Beranger Máyobo
especially. Máyobo turned the ball into his side goal in the 7th
minute! One of the strangest own goals there has been in OFMC!
Things went from bad to worse as Reece Evans smashed home
Cockerells' second barely a minute later.
It could have gotten even worse, Tomáz Moralez was lucky not to
get a red card for a challenge on Ady Tupperman in the 32nd
minute. It was a poor tackle, but there was no intent, so he got
away with just a talking to.
Damiăo Nogueirá (who was the away side's best player) then gave
Hellhounds some hope as he slotted home Máyobo's pass in the
53rd minute. However, Otto Bismark put the game to bed 9 minutes
from time with a glorious strike from the German defender.
Hellhounds had been on somewhat of a high recently, but were
bought back down to earth with a bump. The defeat sees them drop
down to 7th.
"Today wasn't our day, we shipped 2 goals fairly quickly and
could never quite recover from it. We shall hope to bounce back
in the league cup in mid week."
