another superb performance from the lads as we get another win
and another clean sheet and a interesting game from rooney who
scored 2 goals and then also missed a pen for his hattrick but
keane got himself sent off for no reason when we was already
winning but thats keane for you and the 3rd goal was an og so
things are going really well at the moment can we keep that up

Another bitter-sweet week for Dave Rosewell's sides in the
League Cup.
Eagles where made to pay for some calamitous defending as they
were thoroughly beaten 0-3 at home by Manchester United in group
A. Wayne Rooney scored twice in the first 11 minutes, first from
a poorly defended corner and the second with a loob that caught
Kamil Uzbaezanov off his line. Things went from bad to worse in
the 20th minute when Uzbaezanov slipped as he went to meet Taavi
Ruusumäki's back pass. The hapless defender could do nothing as
the ball rolled over the line. Eagles were dealt a lifeline in
the 29th minute after Roy Keane got a second yellow card for a
bad foul on Min So Jouy.
However, Eagles just couldn't capitalise on the numbers
advantage as United shut up shop and despite having a couple of
chances, they couldn't even get a shot on target. It could have
been even worse after Uzbaezanov appeared to fouled Rooney.
Video replays clearly showed the striker dived, but a penalty
was still awarded, thankfully Rooney missed with the resulting
spot kick. "We were punished for some silly mistakes and we just
coudln't find a way through. I'm not happy, but we'll be out for
revenge next time."

Meanwhile, Helsinki Hellhounds won their first match under their
new name, as they convincingly won 3-0 against division one
strugglers Wolves in group F. Portuguese striker, Damião
Nogueirá rifled home a thudnerous strike in the 9th minute from
Mikki Annunen's knock-on header. Nogueirá then turned provider
in the 12 minute, as his cross was met by Kai Jilloppi and the
Japanese midfield scored with a powerful header. Then Beranger
Máyobo made it 3-0 in the 23rd minute, hitting a first-time
volley from Annunen's ball into the box. A fantastic strike by
the Congolese centre-back and surely a contender for goal of the
season! Hellhounds could have gotten more, but Carl Ikeme made
some great saves. After match, hard working striker, Damião
Nogueirá was awarded Man of the Match. "That is a bit more like
it, it was good to the lads working well together."
