Very much a mixed bag for Dave Rosewell's two teams!
Golden Eagles FC beat a surprisingly under-strength Nikara
Dragons 4-0 (who rested many first team players) in a fast paced
game. The margin could have been a lot more if it wasn't for
Hiro Hikkara's heroics between the sticks. Eagles were 1-0 up
with in the 4 minutes, Alessio Kovacic making the home defence
pay for their sloppiness. Frechman Darío Bourrin then made it
2-0 in the 11th minute with a lovely turn and powerful strike.
Kovacic caught Dragons' defence sleeping yet again, this time in
the 63rd minute after latching onto a long pass from Pavel
Chernyshev and firing a curly shot passed Hikkara's out-reached
hand. The Russian striker then capped off a brilliant evening
for the away side, making it 4-0 2 minutes from time after
connecting with sub, Tobias Luoto's pin-point cross. Chernyshev
was also awarded with Man of the Match with his goal and assist.

However, new club Helsinki Hellhounds were humbled 0-4 by
Eastern Whirlwinds at Oasis Park. The away side were being
overseen by assistant manager Dieter Höth, while Dave Rosewell
was in Japan. It seemed to be one of those evenings, were
everything went wrong for OFMC's newest outfit, gifting
Whirlwinds some easy goals.
Kilo Granitt made it 1-0 in the 23rd minute with a defected shot
that wrong footed George Kings. A slip by Johnstone Mur in the
31st minute gifted Don Mortimer a golden oppounity that he
greatfully took to put the home side up 2-0. A calamitous back
pass by Leighton Lamm that went out for a corner, proved costly
in the 47th minute, as Carlos Manco scored with a powerful
header from the resulting corner. Huxley Franco then split
Hellhounds' defence wide open with a lovely pass for Ed Cole to
make it 4-0 in the 52nd minute. That's pretty much how things
stayed, as Hellhounds barely troubled L. Van Angel in goal.
Clearly the takeover and team relocation played a massive part
in so many bad performances, even the away side's best player,
Fuoy Nostrill was partly as fault for the first goal, as he was
supposed to be marking Granitt.
Looks like Dave Rosewell will have his work cut out and there
are rumours that many players are unhappy with having to
re-located to Finland.
