Golden Eagles FC suffered their first defeat of the season,
loosing 1-2 away to Cockney Cockerells. Ady Tupperman 39th
minute strike swerved wickedly before beat the helpless Kamil
Uzbaezanov. Handle Funky then doubled the home side's advantage
4 minutes later, after his shot took a lucky deflection. You
could say both of the Cockerells' goal were lucky, but with 15
shots on targets, it's amazing they didn't score more. However,
Kamil Uzbaezanov was in fine form, pulling off a massive 13
saves! Eagles in reply only managed a mere 6 on target as the
Home side's defence made life extremely difficult for Pavel
Chernyshev and Co. The Russian did find the back of the
Cockrells' net with 9 minutes remaining, but it proved not to be
enough.
After the match Eagles manager Dave Rosewell said "We certainly
came back down to earth with a bump today. We got complacent and
we got punished, sure their goals were lucky, but they deserved
them. Uz was a rock in goal, fortunately for our defence. Let's
hope we can turn things back around next week."

2 games and 2 defeats was not on our season plan, and shipping 4
goals in 18 minutes is a record we hope is never broken.
We’ve lost Merlin and Tallehasse for 3 matches too, so there
will be changes next time out.
