happy to start off with a win and 3 different scorers but going
forward we need to be better in defence but the main thing is we
got off to a winning start

Golden Eagles FC made a statement of intent to the rest of
division 2 with an emphatic victory against Kingfisher Dolphins.
Alessio Kovacic opened the scoring inside the first 15 minutes
with a towering header from Rodrigo Desábato's cross, beating
the helpless Dolphins' keeper. The Swiss ace then doubled
Eagles' lead in the 29th minute after having his initial shot
saved by U. Spellmann and slotted in the rebound. The home side
then pulled a goal back through Peter Everest 4 in the 33rd
minute. However, barely a minute later and Ukrainian Artem
Poltorak rifled home a blistering shot from the end of the box,
restoring Eagle 2 goal advantage.
A couple of minutes after half time Artem Poltorak found space
on the right flank and squared a pass to Finnish striker Jans
Goisthalt who made it 1-4 with a lovely strike. Kiko Monlulo
then made 2-4 in the 67th minute by picking up a rebound after
his header hit the crossbar, giving the home side a glimmer of
hope. However, substitute Tobias Luoto put the game out of reach
9 minutes later, making it 2-5 and that's how the game stayed.
After the match, Artem Poltorak was awarded a well desevered man
of the match bottle of champaign. Manager Dave Rosewell also
commented "I said before the match that tactics will be key and
everyone played their parts brilliantly, it is a dream start to
the season for us. We of course need to make sure we don't get
ahead of ourselves, there is still a long way to go!"

A hard game for the opener of the season as we travelled to
Manchester. In hindsight and after taking some time to look over
things, I don't think we where at the races at all the result
flattered us really. Manchester United played a good game and
deserved the points as we struggled al over the pitch. So back
to the drawing board and maybe a total restart/reboot
needed[/font].[/b]

as we totally capitulated in the last 15 minutes of a game we
should have won or so I think. We had the game under controlled
but failed to add the third goal tat would seal the win for us.
Fair play to Pompey kept going to the end and some would say
they got whet they deserved for their perseverance.[/font]
