Helsinki vs Flyboys
For the second week in a row Helsinki play Flyboys.
Indeed, for the second season in a row they are drawn in the
same xbox group phase mini-league.
The two teams might be sick of the sight of each other.
Helsinki have a full squad to choose from again and the manager
is expected to ring the changes and get some minutes and legs
into a couple of players as well as trying something a little
different formation and tactic wise.

Golden Eagles FC vs Highland Rangers
The two finalists of the Wildlife Trophy meet again, this time
in the Division One League Trophy, they find themselves both in
group two along with Artic Storm and AFC Coventry. Rangers have
had a difficult start to the season, while Eagles are flying
high, but of course league form always seems to go out the
window in the cups. Eagles are without the suspended Welsh
full-back Steve Bowen, so it will be a toss up between Lwan
Niezgoda and scout player Viljami Vertók on who will start on
the bench. While the visitors are missing Brazilian midfielder
Caio Tarazicjy through injury.

Shymkent Scimitars vs United 1908
Scimitar's first taste of cup competition in OFMC comes in the
shape of a Division Two League Trophy game against United 1908.
They are in group two, who also includes Rix Bombardiers and
Dusseldorf Dragons. It is anyone's guess who will the the top
two spots, but Scimitars do look handy to reach the next round
at least following their brilliant start to the season. Both
sides are at full strength and this could be a good opportunity
for some of the younger players on both sides to get an outing.

Sarnians v Pompey Chimes
Good evening and welcome back to Dead Man's Alley. It's funny
how football works sometimes. You spend a week preparing to face
a team, you play them, learn a few things about them, then a few
days later you're staring at them across the tunnel again like
you've bumped into an old acquaintance at the supermarket.
That's where we find ourselves with Pompey Chimes tonight.
We know they'll be hurting after our recent meeting at Southsea
Stadium. We also know that makes them dangerous. Good teams
don't forget results like that. Good managers don't either. For
us, though, tonight is about something a little different. The
Xbox Trophy has always had a special place in this club's story.
Cup football asks different questions. League campaigns reward
consistency. Cups reward courage. Sometimes they reward chaos.
Every now and then they reward a goalkeeper who decides to have
the match of his life. That's what makes them fun.
Theres a different look to the Sarnians team this evening.
J_Chalabert keeps his place in goal, but around him we're giving
opportunities to several of the younger members of our squad.
Billy_Gibbons, D_Bogdanovych, Nero_Saffiro, Ezra_James,
Simon_Walton, Nero_Shallahs and Damascus_Flux all come into the
starting side. Some managers see rotation. I see opportunity.
The future doesn't arrive one day and politely introduce itself.
You have to invite it onto the pitch. We've got experienced
voices around them as well. J_Kerravinian remains a leader.
E_Staggs has started the season brilliantly. Codi_Domino
continues to pull strings in attacking areas, and I'm excited to
see what this group can create together. One player I'm
particularly looking forward to watching tonight is
Damascus_Flux.
The young man has worked incredibly hard since arriving at the
club. Training grounds are full of players who talk about
wanting opportunities. The best ones prepare as if the
opportunity is already coming. Tonight he gets his chance. As a
club we're in an interesting place. We've won our opening league
matches, but I hope nobody inside Dead Man's Alley is getting
carried away. The league season is young, this squad is
evolving, and we're still learning about ourselves every week.
What I do know is this. The hunger remains. Nobody at this
football club is interested in admiring old trophies. They look
very nice, don't get me wrong. But you don't move forward by
staring into the rear-view mirror. You move forward by building.
By learning. By trusting young players. By creating moments. And
hopefully by scoring a few goals along the way.
So let's enjoy the occasion. Let's enjoy the competition. And
let's give Pompey Chimes the respect that any good opponent
deserves.
