SUOMALAINEN SIX GOAL THRILLER
Helsinki Hellhounds 3-3 Golden Eagles FC
Eagles and Hellhounds played out and breathtaking game in the
League Cup semi-final 1st leg. Eagles looked on course to claim
a famous away win against their arch-rivals, but the hosts
managed to come back in the final 10 minutes to make draw level.
E. Shephard got Hellhounds of to a blinder, with some superb
skill that ended in him netting the opener after 3 minutes.
Eagles fought back and were rewarded in the 19th minute as Pavel
Chernyshev smashes the ball home from Darío Bourrin's corner.
The game was very much back and forth for the next 40 or so
minutes until Eagles took the lead through Diog Guillems 59th
minute. His original effort was parried by Hiro Hikkara, but he
scored with the rebound as the defence were caught napping. The
Portuguese midfielder was involved in the visitors' 3rd goal too
as he set up Juan Álvarez who scored on the volley in the 74th
minute.
Hellhounds looked dead and buried, but Lyle Warwick scored with
header from a corner in the 80 minute to give them hope. And
former Eagles young protégé Martin Procházka came back to haunt
his former team as he scored from a super tight angle in the
89th minute! What a game!
"It was frustrating to lose a 2 goal lead, but you can never
relax against a team like Hellhounds, not even for a second. We
switched off for the last 10 minutes and it cost us. Although if
you said we would come away with a draw beforehand, I would have
taken it." Said Dave Rosewell after the match.

Helsinki 3 - 3 Golden Eagles
Honours even and all to play for after the first leg. It was an
entertaining game that say the Hellhounds manager fly too close
to the sun with his tick-tactics and get told 'computer says no'
by the match engine. Once he'd calmed down from his tantrum he
may have realised the misstep may ultimately have helped the
team but he shows no signs of admitting it.
It was an even game and a fair result, similar number of chances
for both sides. Hellhounds started brightly, Eagles took over
and then Hellhounds finished brightly. All in all, an
entertaining game for the neutrals. Once again, despite on paper
being the 4th best MF at the club, Warwick came to the fore with
a goal and 4 key passes. What a season the young lad is having.
Next week's return leg will be a cracker. With both teams
playing each other in the league game just after both teams will
be keen to avoid extra time!
