Arctic 3 - 5 Helsinki
Despite yet another teamsheet error – rumours are the manager
has been sleep deprived in recent weeks – the Hellhounds got
another creditable away victory as the top 5 all kept their
powder dry and picked up three points each. Bjelica continued
his recent hot streak in front of goal as he notched his 6th and
7th goals of the season. Helsinki went ahead, fell behind and
were back ahead again all by the 27th minute. In fact by the
35th minute it was 2 – 5 which is how it stayed until a late
88th minute consolation goal. In amongst all the goals a shout
out for Warwick with his 10th and 11th assists of the season.
Next step is the xbox league cup semis in a block buster tie
against Golden Eagles.

EAGLES HIT IRONWORKS FOR SIX
Golden Eagles FC 6-0 Thames Ironworks
Eagles put Wednesday night's KO Cup heartbreak firmly behind
them as they put 6 past the londoners. Juan Álvarez got things
rolling, side stepping his marker as he headed the ball home
after 25 minutes. Jussi Härmäläinen made it 2-0 in the 32nd
minute with a neat pass from Kai Matsumoto.
And a minute later Eagles were 3 goals to the good, more
brilliant skill from Álvarez unlocked the Ironworks defence. The
Spaniard fed the ball through to Angelo Nazari and the
Filipino's curly shot took a wicked defection that took it past
R. Huolier. And there was no restbite for the visitors as Julio
Xavier took advantage of a Paul Ince mistake and smashed home
his 20th goal of the season a couple of minutes after the break.
And Ince was at fault for the hosts' 5th goal in the 52nd minute
after giving away a free kick in a dangerous position. Álvarez
knocked it forwards to Xavier and the Mexican scored his 2nd of
the game. That was straight from the training ground!
Substitute Diog Guillems added the cherry on top with a stunning
40 yard strike in the 68th minute. The result was not only a
much needed tonic, but it also means that Eagles now have the
best goal difference in the league, as well as the 2nd most
goals scored and 2nd least amount of goals conceded. They remain
in 3rd place still with their closest rivals all winning.
