💥💙⚔️ A Late Double,
Extra‑Time Madness & Shootout Heartbreak — Coventry Edge
Bomb’ay in a Cup Epic
The Rose Bowl roared as AFC Coventry stormed into the match with
sharp pressing and fearless aggression, refusing to be
intimidated by Bomb’ay Sapphire’s
5‑at‑the‑back structure. Lucas Haak became
their early hero, producing world‑class saves to deny Bo
Nix and Dysto Mehta as Sapphire threatened to strike first.
Instead, Coventry struck with venom: a brilliant run by G.
Shepherd split open the defence, and with ruthless composure he
rounded the keeper and slotted home the opener, sending the home
crowd into a frenzy. The momentum swung wildly, with Coventry
fighting like lions and Bomb’ay continuously carving chances
that Haak somehow kept out.
The second half unfolded like a storm. Coventry hammered the
post with a stunning bicycle kick, Sapphire responded with a
barrage of pressure, and the match boiled over when a
controversial decision gifted Coventry a penalty. Shepherd
buried it ice‑cold to make it 2–0 — but Bomb’ay refused to
die. Enter Abbas Singh, the spark in blue. In the 88th minute he
smashed in a brilliant strike, and just one minute later he
burst through again, firing a stunning low finish to equalise in
breathtaking fashion. The stadium trembled as Bomb’ay completed
one of the fastest late comebacks the tournament had seen.
Extra time became pure theatre — end‑to‑end chaos,
last‑ditch tackles, woodwork rattled, tempers flaring, and
both keepers producing heroic saves. Neither side could land the
knockout punch, and the tie marched into a nerve‑shredding
penalty shootout. Spot after spot was converted with
ice‑cold precision until heartbreak struck: after Coventry
made it 6–5, Hugo Kaur sent the final Bomb’ay penalty over the
bar, ending one of the most dramatic knockout clashes of the
season. Coventry advanced, but Bomb’ay Sapphire walked away with
honour, fight, and fury — beaten only on the smallest margins.
⭐ Top 3 Players — AFC Coventry
🔥 G. Shepherd — Man of the Match; scored both goals and
remained the deadliest threat throughout.
🧤 Lucas Haak — Sensational performance with multiple
elite saves, kept Coventry alive repeatedly.
⚡ Frank Bruno — Tireless running, constant danger on
transitions, and relentless pressing.
⭐ Top 3 Players — Bomb’ay Sapphire
💎 Abbas Singh — Two late goals that resurrected the
match; explosive impact and ruthless finishing.
🧱 Dasra Munshi — Four key tackles, defensive leadership
and constant interventions under pressure.
🎯 Acarya Shah — Creative engine, key passes,
set‑piece danger and immense influence in midfield.

10 MEN EAGLES STUN YAKUZA
Kyushu Yakuza 1-2 Golden Eagles FC
Eagles pulled of a massive win in Japan in a tough battle to
progress to the next round of the EA KO Cup. As with their
previous game against Yakuza (in the league), Eagles drew first
blood. Bryan Prittwick made a rash challenge on Julio Xavier in
the box and gave away a penalty after only 6 minutes. Pavel
Chernyshev stepped up and converted the spot kick, sending
Okuninushi the wrong way.
Eagles then capitalised on ther momentum as in the 11th minute
Darío Bourrin made a burst down the right wing, skipping past
Ady Sanders and knocking the ball ahead for Angelo Nazari chase.
The Filipino playmaker out paced the defence, the Japanese
keeper tried to make himself as big as possible, but Nazari
buried it past him. The boy is on fire at the moment.
Eagles then thought they had gone 3 ahead in the 26th minute,
Chernyshev's shot struck the underside of the crossbar and went
down before being smothered by Okuninushi. The ref waved playe
on much Eagles fans' disappointment.
Chernyshev then went and did something stupid at the othet end a
couple minutes later, as he went in with studs up against Jack
Groves. It was a dangerous challenge and the ref had no choice
but to send off the Russian striker, Eagles down to 10 men with
an hour to go!
Eagles didn't let it phase them however, as their defence and
keeper reamind stoic, while still showing threat going forwards
themselves. Yakuza did eventually find a way through however,
Leda Cygnus pulled a goal back in the 69th minute. The shot
moved a lot in the air and it totally wrong footed Rafeal
Alvarado who could not keep out.
The visitors managed survive the last 20 or so minutes with some
intense pressure from the hosts. But Eagles were ultimately
successful and will find out at the weekend who they will face
in the quarter finals.

Arctic 1 - 4 Helsinki
Helsinki got their noses in front early in this one and held the
tactical advantage from there on out. Warwick put in Taylor who
dinked the keeper, 1 - 0 inside 10 minutes. Just 4 minutes later
it was 2 - 0 with McClare finding Karrar from a corner and his
deflected shot giving him his 13th goal of the season. The last
thing Arctic needed after that was a spurs style mix up at the
back but on the half hour the keeper slipped with a back pass
incoming and it was 3 - 0. Game over. HarrisJones followed up to
grab a 4th to make it 4 - 0 soon after before Artic found a
consolation before half time to make it 4 - 1. Arctic then went
into damage limitation mode as the second half passed without
incident and no sense that Arctic thought they could find a way
back.
So Helsinki make it through this tough away tie and look forward
to the quarter final draw. They don't mind who they get but
would prefer a home tie.
