Bombay 0 - 4 Helsinki
The travelling fans feared the worst when they saw a 5 man
defence and counter attacking style for the home side. Would it
be a bore draw? Would Helsinki's diminishing title hopes take
another blow? Thankfully the Hellhounds found their shooting
boots and were in super efficient form this weekend. HarrisJones
got them on their way with his first goal in a while, then
Taylor got the second just after half time. The strength of the
bench then came to the fore with Bjelica coming on to score one
and assist one with Shynkarenko getting a goal too. That rounded
off a fantastic 4 - 0 away win.
Results elsewhere meant that Helsinki climbed back inside the
top three with Yakuza and Eagles sharing the spolis. The gaps to
Sarnians remains 4 points and Nerrad 2 points. Looking at the
player stats Karrar is now joint 4th on the goalscorers list for
Div One with 12 goals (tied with 3 other players), but still
some way off Asayag who leads the way on 17 goals. Lyle Warwick
is joint second with 6 assists but miles off the league's best
player Oli Marcentos on 13 assists (yes THIRTEEN!). Most passes
reads well with Shynkarenko (58), Wariwkc (54) and McClare (47)
all in top the 4. Shout out to Marcentos who made his 13 assists
from just 45 passes, thats about 3.5 passes for each assist.
Compare that to Warwick who needs to make 9 passes for each
asssist. Finally we have Hikkara who is 6th on the most saves
list with 169 saves.

KOKKO COMES BACK TO HUANT EAGLES
Golden Eagles FC 1-1 Kyushu Yakuza
Eagles and Yakuza played a tight and hard fought draw, with the
match stats split pretty much down the middle. However, it could
have been a different story had Angelo Nazari's 21st minute
strike not been disallowed following a foul on a defender.
However, Eagles did take the lead just before the break, Dustan
Huevo lofted a 50 yard pass to Pavel Chernyshev whose long range
shot dipped dramatically over Okuninushi's head.
Eagles looked to good to get a second after half-time, but the
Japanese keeper pulled off some brilliant saves. Then with 20
minites to go, after making some changes, it was Yakuza who
started to turn the screws. That pressure finally paid off in
the 80th minute when former Eagles player Jussi Kokko scored
against his old club. The young man had barely been on for 10
minutes, but his fresh legs speed were too kuch for a tiring
defence. And so it finishes 1-1 and despite the even match,
Eagles will be kicking themselves a little for letting slip
another win against a top side.
The result sees them stay in 5th and sre now 7 points behind the
as yet still unbeaten Sarnians. Although Sarnians could be
beginning to stumble after struggling to win away to Pompey.
Elsewhere Nerrad moved up to 2nd, Hellhounds are up to 3rd and
Yakuza slip to 4th.

Thames Ironworks produced a disciplined away performance to
defeat Reykjavik Reapers 2–0 at Paragon Stadium. The first half
was tight, with goalkeeper Huolier making several key saves as
Reykjavik created the better chances. The game shifted after the
break when L_Orford broke the deadlock on 64 minutes, his effort
from a corner squeezing past the keeper. Just three minutes
later, PUERTE_FEURTO doubled the lead with an acrobatic overhead
finish following Nevillw_Poppy’s cross. With the advantage
secured, Thames switched to a defensive setup and controlled the
closing stages. R_Huolier’s six saves and a Man of the Match
display from Nevillw_Poppy ensured a solid and well-earned
victory.
