A really good performance tonight from us, considering we left
three of the normal starters on the bench due to fitness worries
and again another red card, this time for Nakamoto on the
stroke of half time when we where drawing 1-1. Even with 10 men
we dominated the game and scored another five goals, with man
of the match Caoihmin Og grabbing a hattrick, Kabo Diashi also
grabbed a brace and Inchcombe scored his first goal for the club
since his mid season transfer. After the match it was being
said that the manager would have preferred some of the goals had
come in the previous game (the home league tie). But that being
said we got away with the outcome this past weekend so we must
be happy . The big casualty from the group stages was Yeveran
Stealth who failed to make it out of their group. It seems the
draw was made post match and in the quarter final we drew Pompey
with the first match being away from home, surely that can be
looked upon as a boon.[/font]

happy with the win and the performance of the lads and a nice
clean sheet and this win sees us top the group which i am happy
about as we now face Gyergyoi FC in the next round

Staverton Rangers 1-0 POMPEY CHIMES
We can count ourselves lucky. We were heading out of the cup
until an equaliser from Nearrad in the 88th minute saved us. We
only needed a draw from thsi game to progress and although we
had the better of the game it was the home side that managed to
take the win leaving us dependant on the other result.
I feel a bit sorry for Yerevan but someone had to miss out.

Yerevan Stealth 4 - 4 Real Nerrad
We gracefully bowed out of the lower importance cup as clearly
the knockout cup is the one to win. We did so with a cracking
game that in truth we should have won but after having a two
goal cushion we decided to haul out best players off to rest
them for the weekend.
Whilst this showed where priorities lie, it was probably what
caused our downfall as whilst a spectacle for the fans we didn't
get the win needed.
We were blimmin close though, going out to a last minute goal
from Nerrad which saw us go down to 10 men shortly after with
substitute Assadorian losing his composure.
Goals from Clay, Onio (2l and Akbarov are what we have to show
for this game and we look forward to sitting out the future
rounds and giving our players a rest.
