Thames Ironworks claimed a convincing 3–1 victory over Cockney
Cockrells at the Boleyn Ground. DAVID NEWMAN opened the scoring
inside the first minute before a contentious penalty allowed
Denis Staples to level. The hosts regained control as Puerte
Feurto fired home on 37 minutes and Dani Octavio added a superb
third shortly after. Despite periods of pressure, the Cockrells
struggled to create clear chances and their hopes faded when
Staples was sent off on 69 minutes. Newman remained a constant
threat and was deservedly named Man of the Match as Ironworks
dominated possession and secured all three points.

       Cartagena 3 - 6 Sunset
Hmm. Even on shots, 18 and 16 shooter up front and opposition
with 14 shooters. You'd be hoping for a positive result. It
wasn't to be though as the Sunset shooters were on fire and
Cartagena had an off day. 1 point from 2 games and a hit to the
goal difference makes progression a challenge.
       Acorns 0 - 0 Sarnians
Oh so close to what could have been. Acorns took it cautiously
and it so nearly played off, they kept it tight, kept in the
game but couldn't make the most of their shots. A point gives
them a smidge of hope heating into the Eagles game.
       Helsinki 3 - 1 Flyboys
Good solid win for Helsinki after the initial opening defeat to
Nerrad. Goals from HarrisJones, Hurts and Mathis saw them into a
two goal lead by half time which they didn't relinquish. It's
shaping up as a tight group so far.
