Ironworks began there season with a 4-2 win at Windmill Lane in
a frantic Division One clash. The Ironworks struck early and
punished every lapse. The visitors exploded out the gate –
Raya_Herreira fired them ahead inside the opening minute before
Esparragurza doubled the lead on 4 minutes. Rangers were shell
shocked, but gradually found rhythm and Sander_Rubios dragged
them back into it with a superb finish on 15 minutes. However
just as momentum was turning, Fred_Woodgate produced a brilliant
lob to restore the two-goal cushion on 19 minutes.
Rangers created a mountain of chances – 28 shots in total – but
found R_Huolier in inspired form and their finishing repeatedly
deserted them. Rubios smashed in another spectacular strike on
32 minutes giving them hope, but the equaliser never came
despite constant pressure and woodwork hit. Danni wrapped it
with a clinical 74th minute strike.
Rangers will feel this was one that got away. Ironworks simply
       took their moments.

       Dusseldorf 1 - 3 Helsinki
A well deserved away win to kick off the season was just what
the doctor ordered for Helsinki! They successfully managed to
counter their opponents throughout which enabled them to limit
Dusseldorf to just 9 shots on goal and achieved 26 shots at goal
       themselves.
A first half sending off for Gualey meant Dusseldorf were up
against it but they did make it to half time with the scores
still level at 0 - 0. Making his second debut for the club,
Shephard settled the nerves with the opener on 48 minutes but
with Friedhelm playing a blinder in goal the lead remained at 1
goal unti lthe 79th minute when the Dragons equalised through
Bradshaw. Panic stations? No! Cometh the hour, cometh the man,
Shynkarenko stepped forward and belted home the Hellhounds
second to give them the lead, 2 -1. Meanwhile Warwick was
preparing the icing to put on the cake and got the team's third
goal on 81 minutes to wrap up victory and secure himself the man
       of the match award.
Bizarre moment in the game that is worth calling out. Carillo
for Dusseldorf was booked on 37 minutes and booked again on 38
minutes but the referee (perhaps experiencing de ja vu) didn't
       give his marching orders!
       Acorns 1 - 0 Flyboys
This was a highly creditable performance against stronger
opposition. Acorns went with a 433 at home and were rewarded
with the opening goal on 36 minutes through captain Derek
Dougan. In a relatively even game (12 shots to Flyboys 11), the
Academicals were glad that they could get three points on the
       board.
       United 1908 6 - 7 Cartagena
Pandemonium. Bedlam. Madness. Just some of the adjectives that
spring to mind. Some crazy stats from this game.
4 goals for Chaz Masters, a 15 rated forward
A hat trick of assists for Maeta
       A sending off for Wanchope
8 different goalscores (6 of them for Cartagena)
This was certainly a game for the neutrals and not for those who
are feint hearted. Cartagena had to take the lead three times in
the first half and managed to lead 4 - 2 at half time. That
didn't stop United fighting back to 5 - 5 by 67 mins. Cartagena
pulled away to their third two goal lead of the game by 89 mins,
but untied came back immediately to set up a tense injury time
but thankfully Cartagena held on, just.

       Golden Eagles FC 2 - 2 Sarnians
Eagles and Sarnians played out and thrilling 2-2 draw on the
opening day as season 6 got underway in some style. Both teams
were evenly matched, but Eagles had to work a lot harder being
down to 10 men for most of the second half.
It was the visitors who took an super early lead after only 4
minutes, Tanaka catching Eagles of guard following a slip from
Dustan Huevo. However, it only took Eagles 5 minutes to pull
level as Julio Xavier scored on his league debut from Darío
       Bourrin's corner.
There was plenty of back and forth action in the first half,
with both sides having good chances. The game then turned on its
head not long after the break, as Huevo looked to make up for
his earlier slip. But he miss-timed his tackle on Codi Domino
who was clean through and the ref had no choice but to send off
the French defender. Sarnians's captain Laszlo Kiss stepped up
to take the resulting free-kick from just outside the area. He
bent his shot into the top corner just past Rafeal Alvarado's
out stretched hand to put his team back in front, 1-2.
Eagles dug deep, as they defended stalwartly to make up for
being a player short. The atmosphere was tense, Eagles Fans
looked increasingly nervous as time ticked on, while the
visiting fans looked confident. That was until the 84th minute
when substitute Jussi Härmäläinen swung in a cross that was
smashed home by Pavel Chernyshev. Eagles then controlled the
final few minutes with Sarnians reeling from losing the lead for
a second time. However, Zoffenheim pulled off some brilliant
saves for the visitors to deny Eagles the 3 points.
All being said, a draw was probably the fairest result and a
good start for the champions against last season's runners up.
       Respect to Skitz.

Hartlepool United 4 - 1 Dyer Island Penguins
Hartlepool got their season off to a great watery with a 4-1
victory at home. All there goals coming in a 25 minute spell at
the end of the first half. The first came from Rhine_Hessler in
the 20th minute this raised the home crowds voices. The came a
hectic 15 minutes in which the home side scored three unanswered
goals from Steph_Denke in the 30th, JASPER_OLAFF in the 38th and
finally Nguay_Tantoll just before half time in the 44th. The
home fans could not believe their luck and cheered the home side
       off at half time.
The second half could not live up to the excitement of the first
half and the only goal a consolation goal for the away team
scored by Sdresh_Sarkar in the 63rd minute. So as the final
whistle was blown a great start for the home side and more
importantly 3 points to get there challenge for promotion of the
       ground .
The following day there caretaker manager was seen at the ground
speaking to his assistance manager. When asked for a comment on
the score he’s stated he was happy with the result but a little
unhappy that the could not hold onto the clean sheet. He was
also asked about the loss his main team had suffered in a 4-2
home defeat to Thames Ironworks, he said that he was happy to
answer any questions about Hartlepool but not regarding
       anything else.
