       Hartlepool United the next phase

       Manager White has been in charge of the team for around a week
       now. At this week Q&A session with the local press he stated
       that one of the first things on his to do list is to try and
       lower the age of the squad. At present over 50% the present
       squad are ages 25 and above. There needs to be some movement on
       this point and over the next couple of months he hopes to bring
       in a few younger players without reducing the skill level of the
       squad. He was asked by the local report if it is true that he is
       willing to listen to offers on all the players in the squad? To
       his he said every player has a value and if a team met the clubs
       valuation for that player and the deal was in the clubs favour
       then yes any player could leave the club.
       He was also able to confirm that the first signing of his tenure
       has been completed  Steph_Denke   24 den  1  6 16 10 is joining
       the team from Helsinki but has taken a large chunk out of the
       transfer budget another reason Hartlepool need to shift some
       players to increase the transfer budget.
       Also the club are looking to play some of the younger players to
       help improve the depth of the squad so the fans may be in for a
       rocky season. But the management team are taking a more long
       term view.

       Hartlepool will look to strengthen their squad by acquiring a
       player in the auction but with not as much money in there
       transfer fund they may struggle to get the player they want. If
       they do not succeed in the first round there is always a second
       chance in round 2.
       Other than that it has been a quiet off season so far with one
       player joining and as yet none leaving. The management team are
       looking to try and do some deals before the start of the season
       but say they are happy with the squad and think they are going
       to be challenging at the top ends of the table.
