       Hartlepool United 0-2 Sarnians
A great ground out performance to put us in the driving seat for
the 2nd leg at home. We started fast out the blocks, and were
denied an early penalty when Proximo was hauled down, but within
10 minutes Honest and Tanaka combined to open the scoring and
       settle the nerves.
Then early in the second half it was Tanaka again to double the
advantage courtesy of an assist from Domino, the brace taking
Tanaka to 12 goals for the season!

       Artic 3 - 4 Helsinki
Its always entertaining when these two sides face each other and
this game lived up to those expectations with a high scoring
thriller that sets up the second leg nicely. Helsinki will take
a narrow lead into the second leg thanks to another brace from
in from youngster HarrisJones who now moves to 18 goals for the
       season.
The first half an hour saw Artic take the lead twice but be
pegged back both time, leading for 8 minutes in total thanks to
Shynkarenko and Reece Evans hitting back quickly each time. That
didn't stop Artic taking the lead for the third time and
Helsinki equalising for a THIRD time before half time. 3 - 3 at
the break. It then stayed that way until the 80th minute with
Harrisjones popping up to grab a deserved winner.
Helsinki outshot Artic by 21 to 12 and 10 to 4 on target. A bit
of a day to forget to Hikkara who conceded three. Artic lost
star forward and captain to injury during the game but will be
pleased to see he has recovered and will be available for the
return leg. Bok's sending off means he misses the next league
       game.
Roll on leg two where all is to play for but Helsinki start as
favourites thanks to their one goal lead.

Golden Eagles FC 1 - 3 Rael Nerrad
It was another game for Eagles to forget on Wednesday evening,
as their League Cup hopes took a massive blow with a 1-3 1st leg
defeat to Nerrad. Eagles were quick out of the gates, going for
the jugular early, but Nerrad were set up to repel them and
caught the hosts on the counter attack in the 14th minute.
Former Eagles player Anders Limt come back to haunt his old team
yet again, as his diagonal ball picked out Nissim Asayag and the
Latvian buried it past Petter Andrewsen.
Bhima Hegadi thought he had given his side a 2 goal advantage,
but his 28th minute effort was ruled out for a foul on the
Eagles keeper. Eagles were then awarded a free kick in the 35th
minute after Tobias Luoto fouled Pavel Chernyshev. The Russian
chipped the free kick over the wall, the shot was straight at
the keeper, but it went through Royston Vasey's legs as he
looked to gather it up! Goal! 1-1! But no, the linesman waved
his flag like a mad man and the goal was ruled out for a foul!
The Canadian keeper's embarrassment was spared and Eagles
manager Dave Rosewell was furious and the ref books him! What
       drama!
Eagles were then cught on the counter attack yet again 5 minutes
later, Angelo Nazari was turned inside out by Hegadi by the
Indian winger and his shot dipped just under the bar, 0-2! Then
disaster struck again for Eagles in first half stoppage time, as
Asayag's shot was pushed onto the post by Andrewsen, but the
ball bounced off, hit his back and went in, what a bizarre
moment. Eagles with a mountain to climb in the second half.
Chernyshev finally managed to pull a goal back for his team,
picking up Diog Guillems's pass before nutmegging the Nerrad's
sub keeper and putting the ball into an empty net. Eagles had
several more chances in the second half to mount a come-back,
but they just couldn't find another way though. Nerrad take a 2
goal advantage into the second leg and Eagles will need to pull
off a minor miracle to keep their chances alive.
