Pompey Chimes 3-0 Golden Eagles FC
Following their main rivals tripping up in recent weeks, it was
Eagles turn last night as they were beaten 0-3 away to Pompey
Chimes. Eagles manager had rested the likes of Pavel Chernyshev
and Darío Bourrin who are two of several players who are only a
yellow card away from a suspension. It seemed like a sensible
option with them facing main rivals Sarnians in the league next
weekend and the quality that some of the reserve players have
       shown.
However, it all went horribly wrong after 15 minutes, when Peter
Crouch put the home side ahead. Darren Anderton then spotted
Petter Andrewsen off his line in the 27th minute and the Swedish
keep was helpless as the Englishman's long-range shot sailed
over his head and into the back of the net.
Crouch then scored his second in the 35th minute to put Pompey
firmly in the driving seat. Eagles tried to get back into the
game, but after grabbing the third, the hosts simply shut up
shop and parked all 11 men behind the ball for the rest of the
game. Even the introduction of Chernyshev and Bourrin has little
impact and Eagles were reduced to a measly 4 efforts on goal for
       the whole 90 minutes!
The miserable result sees Eagles' 10 game unbeaten run come to
an end, as they slip back to 2nd place on goal difference. It
was also the first time that Eagles had conceded more than 2
goals in the League this season.

       Tranmere 2 - 2 Helsinki
The curse of the unknown quantity. Unmanaged teams are a
nightmare as you just don't have a clue what they'll do. In this
case they countered the Helsinki gameplan perfectly and Helsinki
paid the price, escaping only with a point when they really
needed to capture all three. As a result they don't follow up
their win over Sarnians with another win, and its almost like
they drew with Sarnians and got the win they would have hoped
       for here.
Karrar's dry patch continued for another game - it must be at
least 6 games without a goal now. Shynkarenko did continue his
recent form though as he scored again. Whilst Helsinki had
marginally more of the game, they couldn't hand on heart say
they deserved three points. A fair result in the end.

       Cartagena 2 - 1 Mendoza
Entertaining game with almost 60 shots in toal and 35 on target,
but both keepers had barnstorming games. Haddison belied his 16
st ability to save 18 shots in total, a fantastic performance.
Xavier got bac kto scoring ways, and young Wanchope got another
goal to continue his development. A 2 - 1 is helpful keeping up
the pressure on the top sides but Highland look imperious at the
top. All Cartagena can do is focus on keeping up the pressure at
       the top.
