Sarnians 5-0 Puskas Academia
How to rub out your rivals goal difference advantage in one
weekend!
It could have been more from the dominance we had in the game,
Guam Honest again had a blinder and was involved in almost every
good thing we did in the first half, he scored the opener and
set the tone for us to go in 3-0 up at half time.
Come the second half and it was another Codi Domino show,
playing him back as a number in wasn’t enough to slow him down
and he scored two goals to take his tally for the season up to
15.
Post match he was challenged by Laszlo Kiss to try and beat him
to top scorer in a friendly show of respect. But now we have a
midweek rest to take us into game 20.

Pompey 1 - 2 Helsinki
A high quality performance where the Hellhounds got the victory
they deserved. There was a clear man of the match for Pompey
with David James making an incredible 21 saves to cement his
status as the best goalkeeper in the game. It is clear what
Helsinki's problem is - their highest shooting player is 17
shooting. Whilst 8 shots fell to him, that wasn't enough for
Karrar to score. Then, 10 shots fell to players with 16 shooting
and the rest to 14 shooting and below. Its easy to see why the
club repeatedly fails to convert shots into goals. The top sides
have 18, 19 and 20 shooting forwards - if Helsinki want to
fulfill their 3 season plan of becoming an elite side it is
clear where one of the big areas of improvement needs to be.
In terms of the game, young HarrisJones got Helsinki off to the
best start, netting after 3 mins before Jemmes added the second
on the half hour. Helsinki dominated from there and Kirkham got
a consolation in stoppage time. Shynkarenko bagged a brace of
assists to take his assists for the season to a credible 7
assists across all competitions.
Cartagena 4 - 3 Flyboys
This one was a great watch for the fans. Cartagena got out of
the blocks strong and scored through taliman Alvarez before
Wanchope and Kamara got on the score sheet. Either side of a
Wanchope's second Flyboys got themselves back into it at 4 - 2
and one 71 mins gave themselves a chance of a remarkable
turnaround. It wasn't to be though and Cartagena held on for the
win.

Golden Eagles FC 3 - 1 Artic Storm
Eagles managed to get a measure of revenge last night for the
0-1 defeat from week 4, with two former Storm players coming
back to haunt their old club. James Avery got the nod ahead of
Diog Guillems (who was rested) and he made immediate impact, as
the Englishman headed in Pavel Chernyshev's cross with barely 2
minutes on the clock.
However, the visitors pulled in the 20th minute, Billy Gibbons
picked out DeDavis Roy's run and the American beat Petter
Andrewsen with a fine shot. Then 8 minutes later, former Storm
Striker Davy Hanna put Eagles ahead, hitting Domenic Torcaso's
pass on the volley and almost breaking the net, 2-1!
Hanna then hit the side netting just after the break, while
Chernyshev had a shot go over and another one saved as Eagles
looked to stretch their lead. Eagles' captain Angelo Nazari
finally found his side a 3rd goal to give them a comfortable
lead, beating two defenders with his dribbling skills before
slotting the ball past Ed Jackson, 3-1! After the game James
Avery picked up the man of the match award, which was well
deserved. Also it should be mentioned that neither he, nor Hanna
celebrated their goals out of respect for their former team.
The win sees Eagles just about hold onto top spot from Sarnians
on goal difference following their 5-0 win over bottom of the
table Puskas Academia. Yakuza remain in 3rd, 4 points off the
pair and Storm in 4th who are a further 3 points behind the
Japanese outfit.
