The Tampere Talon - ohhhhh, we're Halfway there....

       ---------------------------------------------------------
As we hit the mid season point, things couldn't be any closer at
the top of Division One, with Kyushu Yakuza, Sarnians and Eagles
all level on points and goal difference! So the teams are only
separated by goals scored, Yakuza are top with 47 scored,
Sarnians with 46 and Eagles with 39. Although Eagles haven't
been as prolific in front of goal as their close rivals, they do
however have the best defensive record, conceding only 13 goals
       in the league.
It has been a great turn around by Eagles, who were struggling
sitting some 6 points off the lead as one point, having suffered
3 defeats against Artic Storm, Sarnians and Man United. However,
since their home defeat to United in week 10, Eagles have gone
on a five game winning streak, beating the likes of Yakuza, Rael
Nerrad and current champions Darlington All Stars. They have
gotten themselves within touching distance of top spot and
earning manager Dave Rosewell the manager of the month award for
April. They are also still in both cup competitions, finishing
top of their group in the league cup and will face Highland
Rangers in the last 16. While they are yet to see who they will
face in round 3 of the KO cup.
Meanwhile on the transfer front, Eagles have been pretty quiet
since pre-season, with manager Dave Rosewell happy to give his
squad some time to gel and it seems to be doing the trick
despite a couple of bumps in the road. Looking at the team, it
is hard to see who could get sold off in place of fresh talent,
everyone is working hard and the young scout players have also
       been impressive.
Good luck to Eagles for the second half of the season!
