Helsinki vs Golden Eagles
They don't come much tougher than this. The Eagles are soaring
at the top of the league thanks to their superior goals
difference and will be coming in confident of keeping up their
recent excellent form in all competitions. They have a start
studded squad with quality and strength in all positions, most
notably defence where they easily out muscle the Hellhound
backline which is very much building for the future. That is
reflected in the defensive stats where Helsinki have conceded 48
goals and Eagles a miserly 15. Ouch.
So come Saturday the task will be twofold. Firstly to try and
stop them scoring, and secondly to find a way past their
defence, somehow. These tasks are of course are made all the
more difficult when two key players get themselves needlessly
sent off in the prior game. So both Reece Evans - Helsinki's
best defender, and Garry Jemmes - Helsinki's joint best
defensive midfielder, are both suspended. Attack attack attack I
hear the home fans cry? It could be a cricket score if they do.
Recent signing Dougan will continue in the starting XI as he
builds match fitness.
Dyer Island vs Cartagena
Nothing throws a tactical game plan into disarray like a change
in management. The club will be going into this one blind. How
will the opponents play? What formation will they choose. We.
Just. Don't. Know. So we concentrate on ourselves and trying to
put the recent disappointing form behind us. Huwe and Xavier
both scored in the previous game and the midfield were back on
song too. If both those parts fire then Cartagena have another
good chance to pick up points and keep pushing those above them
in the table.

Sunset Knights vs Sarnians
We are back on the road for an evening game against Sunset
Knights, and we make a trio of changes. Ember Tuipers comes in
for Belasaurus in defence, Codi Domino is rested for Guam Honest
as we looked to protect the 17 year olds minutes played and
Eddie Staggs will play at number 6 with Ajak also being rested.
As we go into the second half of the season rotation will be a
more regular feature as it isn’t simply a case of league side
and cup side being selected, but with good minutes in the bank
across the squad the choice of starting XI is very much in our
own hands.
