Thames ironworks 0-4 Sarnians
Well when the teams were announced and Thames had not named
anyone playing in central midfield we and think Santa had
extended The Christmas giveaway to a 9th day! But the game was
still there to be played and there were plenty of challenges to
overcome in the first half. But our possession began to tell and
we remained composed running out 4-0 winners and getting our
camp tough off to a dream start.

Helsinki 4 Artic 6
Tactical advantage. 38 shots to 24. 17 shots on target to 10. 8
corners to 2. Just some of the stats underlying a good
performance in most areas of the pitch, except for the
goalkeeper! 16, 12, 5 and 4 rated players all beat 20 rated
Hikkara who conceded more goals than he made saves. Hikkara's
opposite number made 14 saves versus 4 conceded. In a nutshell,
that is where the game was won. There were some positive
performances, but ultimately this will be an entertaining game
to forget.
Flyboys 4 Cartagena 2
Cartegena got precisely what they deserved, nothing. They were
second best on the day to Flyboys. Hatori Hanzo was on form in
front of goal and the scoreline could have been worse were it
not for the heroics of Haddison in goal. Captain Alvarez played
well, getting a goal from midfield, but Cartagena will go again
next week and hope this doesn't have the makings of a long
season.
