It was also going to be a tough ask against top opposition but
when Cartagena saw the teamsheet that had been submitted there
was slight hope that they could pull off a shock and go further
in the competition. That hope grew on 14 mins when they took the
lead, Juan Alvarez with a well taken goal. They held that lead
almost until the break when Amsalam deservedly got Nerrad back
on terms. The kicker was Asayag getting the winner straight
after the restart. Despite the match being even, Cartagena could
find a way back on terms and lost 2 - 1.
Helsinki
Lezno 1 Helsinki 3
A victory where Helsinki were deserved winners but made to work
for it after home goalie Barszcz had the match of his life.
Helsinki dominated from start to finish, with Androv scoring
against the run of play and Shynkarneko getting the equaliser on
20 mins. From there Helsinki huffed and puffed with 34 attempts
at goal and Barszcz making 15 saves from the 18 on target during
the match. Shynkarenko, who is already building up a head of
steam this pre season scored the winner and Ruiz came off the
bench to secure all three points.
