Cartagena
Round 1 had drama, goals galore and saw Cartegena equalise THREE
times and still lose an epic game 4 – 5 to Puskas -equalising in
the 83rd minute and conceding in the 84th killed them off. This
was a game they couldn’t afford to lose if they wanted to come
in the top 2. Some real positives from the game as several
signings performed well including a hat trick for Ginzalo.
Round 2 coming up against powerhouse Rael Nerrad. Tough tough
game but with Nerrad having won their first game 4 – 1 and
leading the way on three points with Puskas, Cartagena need to
find some magic to get a result.
Helsinki
Round 1 A solid start and a comfortable 4 – 0 victory against
Eastern Whirlwinds for Helsinki. The team were good value for
their win and four different goalscorers saw them score twice in
each half. Star player Shynkarenko was man of the match – that
may be a theme for the season – but interestingly the midfielder
didn’t make any passes and it was his 1 key tackle, 6 shots and
1 goal.
Round 2 sees another division 2 team in Lesno Lyons as the
opposition. It is understood that there will be changes in
starting personnel to keep the first team squad fresh and give
others a change to impress the manager ahead of the new season.
