       Just to say hello.

       Hello all
The NF500 bike and this forum are completely new to me and so I
am unsure how either of them work.
I have recently bought a rather gnarly 1973 ex JNA bike and had
a first ride out today - it's quite unlike anything I have
ridden before and that includes a Panther sidecar outfit.
It appears to have been one of a batch imported a few years ago
and came with some details of the other bikes in the batch if
anyone is tracing where they went.
Maybe it will go round corners better on a pair of road-friendly
tyres - any suggestions which to try?
       Regards
       Aylian

       Morning, and belated welcome.
Didn’t get a notification of your post for some reason.
The NF handles well, and certainly far better than my Panther,
so if it doesn’t, something is wrong, and tyres would be a good
place to start. I use Heidenau K34s which I’m quite happy with.
Others use a variety of choices, but for the speedier ones TT100
are popular. Assume you will check wheel alignment, steering
head for binding or play, swinging arm, etc. The ex JNA machines
were often in very poor condition and badly abused. I have
photos of a batch sold via an importer, at least three of which
       ended up here in Scotland.

Hello and thanks for the information about tyres although I have
already bought a pair of Mitas H-03 tyres which seem to suit my
MZ OK but time will tell.
Yes, my ex JNA is a bit rough round the edges but it seems to go
OK so if I can get it to handle better and maybe stop a bit
better then I feel I will be getting somewhere.
I have seen an article in Classic Bike Guide from December 19
about building a NF500 custom bike and the bike in question
seems to have come to the UK in the same batch as mine.
I understand most of the VOC traffic is now via Facebook, which
I have no experience of but although I have joined Facebook and
clicked the NFVOC 'Join Group' on several occasions, I have so
far not had any reply or acceptance so I must be doing something
       wrong.
       Regards
       Andrew

Aye; the custom is my friend Tonya, who lives quite close in
Scotland. I have the fairing and panniers from his bike, but
he’s built another since then, again from the same batch.
Like I said it should handle well (for the era) and if it
       doesn’t, there’s something wrong.
Good luck with it; they are very engaging bikes if you’re that
way inclined. I have owned mine for 18 years now...

Hi, on my Falcone I have Mitas H 03 and I am very pleased with
       them. ;D
I’ve also talked to colleagues who have oldtimers and a lot of
them drive Mitas tires. Good tires for moderate money!
       Regards

Another option that I used was Metzeler ME 22
