For the record, it's "Grass Green" - RAL 6010 - so getting touch
up paint shouldn't be a problem.
The tank was a bit of a task. The bottom was cut out on both
sides and the dents were removed. I wouldn't have thought it
possible, but it came back dent free.
Where it had been welded however was another matter. The fellow
who took the dents out said he could do nothing about the welded
bit.
I then had the welded bits filled in with braze - but when I
pressure tested it, there was a pinhole in the braze, and the
entire filler neck was leaking. Time for plan "B" - a new
filler neck, brazed into the old one, and the seam around the
old one brazed up too - plus a bit of braze on the pinhole . . .
. . which when linished back, leaked again. This turned out to
be the weld under the braze was paper thin, so it was cut back a
fraction and brazed again. This time it didn't leak.
Went and collected the tank this morning, made some new rubber
mountings for it and tried it on for size. So far - so good.

I'm feeling humbled... :-[
Using RAL is always a good idea.
FYI, the top hat tank rubbers are still available, although the
top hat steel inners don't seem to be

Rubber fuel hose, ¾ diameter - a bit of old Transit mudflap and
a suitable hole punch - a sharp Stanley knife . . . . one set of
new top hat rubbers ;D

Right - the wheels are now in.
The decals are in place.
Just need to get the engine back in, then make up an exhaust
system.
Oh - and fit and wire the starter ( wires are there - just need
to connect 'em )
I would have put the engine in this weekend but it was our club
rally, so as you can imagine I wasn't at home.

Here we are again.
Stainless exhaust has now been made (finished it earlier today
).
Engine runs - and starts off the button.
Sadly it's not charging. I've checked the dynamo output and
that's fine, so it looks like it may be the regulator.
This is a brand new regulator from Classic Dynamo and Regulator
Conversions - it was bought new with the dynastart.
The regulator has been sent back . . . so as soon as that comes
back the bike is as good as finished.
It will be off for MOT, then hopefully it will be getting a bit
more use. . . . time will tell.

Wotcha.
It's a ( cheaply made ) pattern of a Suzuki switch.
It does all I need: Lights on and off, dip and main, horn and
indicators - oh, and a pass light too.
