Frame/Engine Clearance
By: patentgeek Date: April 29, 2018, 7:28 pm

There is very little clearance between my engine and the right
front downtube. The front and rear sprockets are aligned, so
I'm confident the spacers between the engine and frame are in
the right locations. And I've put a straight edge on the frame
tubes, and nothing is bent.
Is this normal?
I can take a pic for clarity if the above isn't clear.

It's probably fine patentgeek. I had my rocker box off yesterday
to re-torque the head after the top-end rebuild, and there was
barely enough room to get the oil feed off.
This is the best photo I can find of that area; I'd fitted the
head, and the oil feed was still attached to the crankcase, but
of course had fallen down below the head. There wasn't enough
room to get it past the head, and I had to remove it entirely,
and refit from the top.

Wow, that's really tight. Glad to hear it's not a problem. One
less thing to worry about as I pull this NF out of a 30+ year
slumber.
