       Handlebar Replacement Suggestions?
By: patentgeek Date: August 3, 2017, 8:17 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
The handlebars on my Nuovo Falcone Sahara are bent. I might be
able to straighten them satisfactorily, but replacement might be
       easier.
Any suggestions for a replacement? I would prefer to keep the
       original handlebar dimensions.

Someone should have a stock bar available, as so many are
non-stock. I do have a spare, but would prefer to hang onto it,
just in case. I can measure the stock dimensions if that's any
help? Unfortunately, there aren't many posting on here these
days, so I'm not sure who will see your post. If you do
Facebook, there's more traffic on our Group.

I've just changed the bars on my Civile for a pair from another
Guzzi. I doubt if they're the same as fitted to the Sahara
       though.

Yes, dimensions (e.g., width, rise, pullback, etc.) would be
helpful. The current handlebars look a lot like handlebars BMW
used on various airhead models. And Flanders here in the U.S.
manufacturers a wide variety of handlebars, so I might get lucky
and find something close to stock dimensions.
Thanks for the Facebook tip. I'll look for the group.

Apologies that I haven't unearthed the bars yet; they're buried
       under other stuff.
In the meantime, did you notice this post?

No worries on the handlebar dimensions. I have plenty of other
things to keep me busy on the bike :)
The advert in your link is for Civile handlebars and my bike is
       a military model.

Well, it's taken forever, but I finally raked out my spare bars,
with the intention of sticking them on my Panther (they didn't
fit, and hit the tank) and took a few measurements for you. It's
really difficult to define dimensions with a 3D object, but
       here's what I managed:
Overall width is about 765 mm.
From the ends, the bar runs straight for about 240 mm before the
bend starts (NOT the dimension to the centre of radius).
I tried to measure rise and pullback, but how this is supposed
to be done has always been a puzzle to me. What I did was set
the bars down so that the U-bend from the fixings was more or
less vertical (similar orientation to the last photo, but on a
flat surface) which of course is far steeper than they will be
       fitted in practice.
With the bars set up like that, the vertical rise was about 130
mm, centre to centre, and the pullback, again centre to centre,
       was about 140 mm.
       Here are some pix FWIW:

Good to get those dimensions Banquo.
I am continually searching for just the right set of 'bars for
my NFalc, as I want a pair with more bend down and less rise.
Something like clubman bars, but without the welded join.
The current pair I have are a lot lower than standard, and the
lower riding position adds 5 to 10 extra km/h on the highway.
Probably the most significant improvement I've made to the
       bike's performance.
".....my spare bars, with the intention of sticking them on my
Panther..." What is it with Guzzi owners and Panthers? Nick
Eldo'got one, bloke at my local club has one, Banquo. I've
always lusted after one, preferably with girder forks. Would
love to read a Panther / NFalc comparo.

That comparison may well come :D
I'd have preferred an earlier one, and the most pleasurable ride
I ever had was on a 1929 with girders and twin Brooklands
       'silencers'.
       It was a wondrous experience.
