Personal view; I'll never buy another wet battery.
I've been using AGM batteries on my Harleys for years, and
getting upwards of 8 years life, so they're expensive, but well
       worth it.
Most recently changed to Motobatt, as they're half the price of
the Harley ones, and seem to have a good reputation. I now have
one for one of the Harleys, and another in the Cali III. Keep
them on an Optimiser, over winter.
You'll get loads of Motobatt choice off eBay, and mine usually
       come from Busters.
It's not necessary to be a slave to size; my NF is running the
old Harley battery, and as it's a Softail, where the battery
resides in a recess in the ol tank, it's physically small.
However, that didn't stop it churning over the huge engine for 8
years without complaint, and it fits nicely in the NF tray now,
       with some packing pieces.
If you do want a larger battery, I expect the one for Harley
Tourers (which is also the size used in the Cali III) will
probably be about the right size.
Motobatts are usually bright yellow, but they have recently
introduced a black range, so you don't look like you collected a
       canary en route...
The small one I bought for the Harley was a MBTX20U available
for about £72. You can pack it out, or make a wooden box to
accommodate it, and if it's man enough to churn over a big
Harley, it will yawn and take another sip of tea when turning
       over a Dynastart.

If you're insistent on getting something that will fill the
space, then check out the larger battery for Cali/Harley
Tourers. I've never tried to fit it, but my guess is it's the
       right size.
Here's one for the Cali III, which will be more than man enough,
but you need to check the dimensions to make sure it will fit:

I tend to agree that AGM is the way to go. BUT note they like to
be worked. I run a bike shop and we sell batteries including the
popular motobatt mentioned. Mostly everyone is happy, but, a few
fit the batteries and then leave them for months. AGM batteries
seem to love to sulphate and do so much quicker than the old wet
type. So fit one, use the bike, if you can't use it, attach a
load to it, I have a head light with croc clips. Load it for a
few hours, then charge it for a few hours once every couple of
weeks. Don't just leave it all winter. recently I have fitted a
tremex battery activator to several of my bikes fitted with AGM
batteries and not used very often. These are designed to
eliminate sulphate build up and do seem to work. Although the
Motobatts are very popular I honestly feel they are more prone
to sulphate build up than other batteries of similar type, we
are now offering Unibat as a longer lasting alternative to
Motobatt for people who use their bikes less often. (please
note, I have answered to be helpful, not to promote my company,
all items mentioned are available elsewhere. I do not even claim
       to be the cheapest).

i've had good results with cheap lawnmower batteries ,
i tried a motobatt, but that didnt last very long.
for cars and bikes that get very little use a cheap harbour
       freight solar charger works wonders.

i hate to have loads of chargers plugged in , this is ( just)
enough to keep the battery alive over the winter.
