Will be good to see the progress patentgeek. That tank failure
is weird. The only similar thing I've seen was a Commando that
was retrieved from under water. I see why a new engine was
required; looks like the con-rod made a bid for freedom. That
looks like Genuine Sahara colour, and should look something like
       this:

Don't know why they painted over half the flywheel cover, but
they did, and I think the points cover was black too.
Like your cars too by the way!

My brother had a Lotus Cortina before I was riding. I remember
it had a really bad shimmy, but probably just needed the wheels
balancing. I like the Volvo too...........but not as much as the
NF which is far more interesting than both of them together
       IMHO.
It will be interesting to hear how you overcome the issue and
get it back on the road. It's not a freeway bike, but few give
       quite as much pleasure.
BTW if you haven't stumbled across it, Leafman's Nuovo Falcone
thread on ADV is a going concern, with lots of good information,
ideas, some trip reports and encouragement. It starts here
  HTML http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/guzzi-nuovo-falcone.849445/<br
/>and carries on for 125 pages (of which the last is the most
       recent).
       Good luck
       Nick
