Details of Sprocket supplier:
Talon Engineering Ltd
44, Sea King Road
Lynx Trading Estate

Somerset
BA20 2NZ
Tel No +44 (0) 1935 471508

www.talon-eng.co.uk
Part description of 31 tooth rear sprocket (I sent my 35 as a
pattern)
TRS48753031PL - Special Rear Sprocket Plain
Price GBP £35.28 +VAT + Carriage cost me £51.94
If it helps my invoice was dated 10/07/2014 and Number 52845
I am pleased with the conversion as it makes the NF a bit more
"long legged" and has marginally improved the mpg.

Thanks Dave. I trust you had an enjoyable and relaxing holiday.
Just one thing - did you change from a 35 to the 31, or from a
33? I currently have a 35 and I'm wondering if the BIG jump
might be a bit too much for my meager 499 to make (knowing you
have the road rocket version). Any thoughts?

35 to 31, I am very pleased with the change, 1st gear becomes
usable and is more like a normal g/box having lost that very low
1st gear. Mine is in no way a "rocket" It's still a lovable old
plodder :-)

Thanks Dave,
Message sent to Talon. I'll post whatever response I get.
It's a scary distance from Somerset to Ontario and some British
companies haven't cottoned on to the idea that it's a small
world now (or perhaps more likely, just can't be bothered with
riff-raff in the colonies).

I have used Talon over the years (not for NF stuff) and their
quality is first class.

If it's any issue getting them to accept an order from Canada,
and ship overseas, then there would be nothing to stop one of us
purchasing locally, and sending it off?
Just a thought: how many of us are there who might be interested
in a 31T sprocket?
I'm wondering if we could save something on set up costs if we
were to purchase (say) five instead of one?

Following receipt of this email:
Hi Nick
The part you require is TRS48753031PL which is a special
sprocket and will take approx. 3-5 weeks to produce.
The cost will be £35.28 + approx. £11.50 carriage
If you want to place an order, please get back to me with your
address details/telephone number etc, so that I can set you up
with an account
I can then pass your order on to be placed.
Regards
Katherine
I just ordered one this morning. I talked to Katherine on the
phone then sent my mailing details.
No problem shipping to Canada - and best of all, they will
accept VISA over the phone. I asked if they wanted payment
up-front, but they were quite happy to take payment before
shipping.
So far, easy to deal with.
Nick
