Hi as rides go I rate mine as great not for not for weather not
for scenery not for company but because it was my first serous
ride other than mot and I am lost for words a total distance
approx 100 miles lanes and main roads fastest bit 70mph on
speedo mostly between 30 to 50mph but as I said how do you
explain the experience of riding a slow revving bags of torque
engine with 4speed gearbox and a bike weighing about
450lbsperhaps some one can let know in there own words
Regards mike

A great ride is any ride which you return from feeling great
IMHO. Distance, location, speed - none of them matter.
It's good to hear your bike is working well and giving you
pleasure.
Ride safely.

I have four bikes, with a total of about 80,000 miles between
them I guess. Only 8000 miles on the NF, but each one has been
enjoyable. I derive more enjoyment from it than any of the other
faster, and more capable machines, from the moment of turning on
the fuel, and going through the 100% reliable starting regime,
to the sound and the smell and the ever so bouncy ride. Yes,
every ride is a great ride! You've got the bug....

You would think that riding my V7 Ambassador would be nicer than
riding my NF,but no,there is something about the NF that gets to
me.As i have worked in the bike trade on and off for years I
have been able to ride some great and rare bikes ( Vincent Black
Shadow,MV's,hundreds of Harleys,Hundreds of Guzzi's,Bimota's and
loads and loads of Ducati's,Japanese and British bikes) a
slow, simple ungainly old single would seem a boring choice of
ride,but I love it.
Maybe it's a combination of age,(mine and the bikes!) the
empty, twisty roads in rural France, the sound and the feel of the
engine that does it.

As my signature on the old forum used to say, "The best things
in life (single malt whisky for example) are best enjoyed at a
relaxed pace"
Speed is over-rated.
Take a ride on your NF, and you SEE the scenery, you SMELL the
earth, the trees and the heather, and you HEAR what must be the
most relaxing exhaust note ever, with a tasteful seasoning of
tappets and gears.
It really is something special...

Thanks for all your comments if it is all about the journey and
not just the destination a bit like live itself then why make it
go past so fast just a thought better to take your time
