Improved riding position?
By: Bruno Date: June 23, 2015, 7:33 am

Has anyone else found their knees a bit cramped while riding?
I have,so I have turned up a couple of 25mm ally spacers and
with longer bolts, fitted them under the seat springs.
For me the riding position is much better. ;D

Will depend on your I/S leg I suppose.
I wear 34" and get by sitting at the rear of the seat.
Spacers sound a good idea.

I'm only 29" but I think it may be because the springs are a bit
tired......or of the extra gravity my body emits because of my
'big bones'!

You might say that Bruno; I couldn't possibly comment.... 8)

I notice that in our "sister" NF forum thread over at ADV Rider
friend Kater has moved his seat back an inch or so. I'm just on
6' and I think I agree with Bruno, that it's a little cramped,
although I'm not really qualified to comment since I've never
ridden my NF any significant distance (still getting things
sorted out for rego). But I'm planning to try moving the seat
back a smidgeon, a la Kater. It does result in a bit of a gap
between the seat and the tank, but if you have a look at the pix
of Kater's red bike, it's not at all unsightly. Looks good
actually.
Cheers,
Nitram

It's worth a try. I looked at it as well, because I'm 6' 2" and
have a knee that doesn't bend too well from an old accident. I
wasn't sure I was going to be able to ride the NF at all, but
it's been fine. I sit pretty far back on the seat though.

I ride good distances on the Nuovo Falcone (although only in one
direction, apparently) ::) and, at a 6'2" (34 inseam) don't
have any problem with feeling cramped. My beaded seat cover
provides another half an inch of legroom. I think it's just a
case of getting used to it. It's a different feel to modern
bikes, but I find it roomy and comfortable, especially now I
have squash balls between the seat springs.
Are your footpegs on the lowest setting? Mine are just about
resting on the exhaust.

I cannot understand how you can be comfortable on the bike with
squashed balls under your seat springs!
It makes my eyes water just thinking about it!
